My soon to be 3 year old took a sharpie, no not a regular one, an king size black sharpie and wrote on my white walls and white counter in my bathroom, nothing will take it off, anyone know what will do the trick? he also wrote on my tv but luckily windex took it off. If you are wondering how he was able to do this...he did it in the entire 5 minutes i went to put his baby brother down for a nap!
Well if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated thanks:>

Try wiping it with rubbing alcohol.

Any of us with children are well aware of how it could happen.

Ink is alcohol based. I've heard that writing over the marker w/a dry-erase marker loosens up the ink enough that you can wipe it right up. I've never actually tried it though.

You could try rubbing alcohol or glycerin - or call the folks at Sharpie. You might just have to resign yourself to repainting those lovely military-base white walls though.

Not sure if it would work on walls, but hairspray takes permenant marker off of plastic stuff (such as overhead projector sheets). Not the airasol kind, but the regular pump bottle kind. Had a teacher once with a knack for using permenant marker instead of dry erase and she always used hairspray.

I've read that toothpaste works with taking permanent marker off of wood, you may could try it on your walls and counter. There is also a product called Goo Be Gone and that works GREAT!

Good Luck to you!

I babysat 3 kids a couple years ago and when I went to check on the baby I walked back in and the twins were coloring on the walls..I used lighter fluid to get it off..it was funny when the parents came home, I told them and the mother laughed and said "thats why we have lighter fluid" I don't know if it'll work for permanent marker though..but just wanted to let you know my experience...I heard WD40 might work.

If the two suggestions above don't work, try white vinegar. I have read that it can remove some things. It really depends on what kind of paint you have on your walls. If worst comes to worst, repaint with kilz first. Sorry!

I think the rubbing alcohol should work on your walls. If not then definately try the MR. CLEAN Magic erasers.

Try Goof-Off or Goo-Be-Gone. I use that stuff all the time to get, marker, crayons, paint and a host of other things off the walls and other surfaces.
