The doctor has never said anything regarding his weight, and the last time he went was about 2 months ago and he was 44lbs-- I am going to take him to the doctor this week!! Thanks!

Oh no that's way too much. He should be more like 30lbs. What does his doctor say? Unless he's really tall for his age, he's very overweight. I'm sure doctor would have mentioned this. I just charted him, and he's off the charts for weight, and that's not good. It can lead to many health problems.

My 21mth old daughter is just under 30lbs which is almost 90% for her age group in weight, but she's also +90% on the growth curve for her height. If I look up 50lbs at 2yrs and 4mths, that is WAY above the highest mark. 100% of the curve would be approximately 35lbs.

I'm finding it hard to believe that your son's pediatrician/GP has never said anything about his weight. He's obviously MUCH higher than the normal growth curve. How tall is he? I was a skinny little girl, but I was probably 8yrs old before I weighed 50lbs... An obese child is likely to become an obese adult so please see a dietician about this.

my son is 2 1/2 an weighs 26 pounds. My nephew is a lot taller the him and weighed 33 pounds at 2 1/2. I think 50lbs is considered overweight.

My goodness unless he is very tall that would be extremely overweight for a child that age. My daughter is only 30 pounds at the age of 5 1/2. 50 pounds just doesn't sound normal to me. What has the pediatrician said about it?

wow, my 3.5 year old only weighs like 40

when my son was 2, he weighed about 28, at his 3rd birthday checkup he was 36lbs

I should also mention, at his 3rd checkup, for weight he was in the 75th percentile. I think you really need to see a doctor.

honestly that sounds a little heavy. I would check with your pediatrician to see what a healthy weight would be for your child.
