at 14 months I put my daughter on a schedule. We play all morning and then we eat lunch between 11- 11:30 and I put her down everyday between 12 - 12:30. She usually sleeps until 2:30 - 3:00 and then we do snack time. I am a big believer in doing schedules. We go to bed everynight at the same time. She loves for you to turn her lullabye music on and she just goes to sleep.
You have to endure the crankiness for just a little while and then they will be used to a schedule.

My daughter has been on one nap a day since she was about 11 months old. She is 15 months old now. She naps from about 1 pm to 4 pm. She gets up at 8:30 in the morning and goes to bed at 9 at night.
Of course, try to get them into a solid routine- that will help them sleep more soundly and not wake up cranky- but whatever schedule suits you and them best.

Ya that sounds about the right age for them to be transitioning into one nap, my son was about 14 months. You just have to try to get them to stay up as long as possible in the morning, take them outside or to a park until after lunch. This will take a little while for their bodies to adjust, but they will. Or you could put them to bed 1 hour later at night, so they sleep an hour longer in the morning, sometimes that works.

I never put my daughter down for 2 naps. I think you might be havig a problem with too much rest. My daughter always took 1 afternoon nap sometime after lunch and she had a early bedtime and slept all night. Maybe your twins are getting to much rest, too much can be just as bad as not enough. I would try 10-12 hours of rest at night and 1 nap in the afternoon.

Some kids are different than others.....
My son never slept during the day. The kid my wife watched always took a nap in the afternoon.
It depends on what you teach them is right, so sleeping in the morning now seems normal to them, and they are not as tired in the afternoon now.
Try weening them off of sleeping in the morning, at least that is when my wife gets the most done as far as errands when I'm home to watch them.
I felt the best for them was if they slept in the afternoon, but that is just how our family worked.

By a year most babies are down to one nap a day so that's probably what's happening. Your twins no longer need both naps. I can't honestly remember which nap they drop but I think it's the morning one. They'll probably still need a sleep in the afternoon!

One nap a day would most likely work best. Keep them up later at nite so they sleep a little longer in the morning. Say they get up at 7-8am then lay them for a nap around 12-1pm. My son takes one nap a day usually 2-3 hours hes 2 but I keep him up until at least 930-1030 he sleeps until 830-930am and naps at 2pm Usually. Just get them on a schedule and see how that works for you..

Unil 18 mmonths they shuld be still on 2 naps.
I wouldnt hold off the first nap -and for the 2nd just leave them play in their cots for 2 hours in the afternoon - they'll at least get some rest. Ignore them if they cry - they are old enough not to need you for those 2 hours! Soon they'll start sleeping in it, as they get used tothe routine.

slowly put them down for a nap latter and latter by 15 minute increments so they get use to having just one nap.the schedule will be weird for a while but they will gradually settle into it.
and have the morning nap shortened.
you could also try a middle of the day nap right after lunch.
