My daughter who is 18 months has never had a problem drinking milk. All of a sudden my daughter is throwing up after she drinks milk....she doesnt have any symptons of being sick, no fever, very active, and it has been happening for about 2-3 days. she may be sick and I plan on bringing her to the Dr. tommorrow but I was just curious to hear from other parents who have children that are lactose intolerant just in case she is. Thanks.

The doctor will probably put her on a special diet consisting of lactose free foods. This list should help.

Breads: Brick Oven bread
Milk: Soy Milk or Lactaid Milk
Cheese: Lactaid Cheese
Ice Cream: Lactaid Ice Cream
Cake: Angel Food Cake

I'm not sure if the Lactaid Ice Cream is still in stores because it's been awhile since I've seen any. Also, when buying foods, look at the ingredients and make sure the product does not contain any milk ingredients or whey. I experienced the same thing your daughter is going through except I was a little older. I eventually grew out of it and now I can eat any dairy products without any problems. Hope this information helps.

My niece was like that. At age 2 out of the blue she was throwing up after she drank milk. (after quite a few tests, she is lactose intolerant and has to watch her dairy intake) Try a soy milk and see what happens. She may not like the taste at first. I am lactose intolerant and I love the Choc. Silk Soy Milk!! Defiantly check with the Dr. there may be something wrong that may not stand out to you. Better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck to you and your daughter!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my coisen's daughter was the same way. She had regular formula, and milk and then one day she started to vomit after having dairy. They use silk soy milk now, the regular stuff, not the vanilla because there is a lot of sugar in the vanilla. We also use the Silk milk because we had our daughter on soy formula and she refuses to drink regular milk. I don't think she likes the way it tastes.

my youngest and myself are lactose intolerant, you just need to change her diet, soy milk or goat milk would be your next choice. Most health food stores carry some foods without dairy products, including baby cereal. I had to change my son's diet to a gluten free foods and artificial colors; his tummy and his health has improved tremendously!.
Have her pediatrician test her for other food allergies.

we switched my 4 year old to Lactaid milk. He was having horrible gas after drinking regular milk and it has stopped since the switch.
