my 3 and a half year old girl is incredibly stubborn, just objecting to everything all the time, she never agrees with me on anything, even when i call her "a good girl", it is always a "No, i am not". she is mostly stubborn with people whom i think she loves most, including me, her father, her grandparents, etc. i removed her pampers more than a year ago but she still makes herself wet when at home, although almost never when at nursery school!! i give her all possible attention, i really do... Each time i take her out she is being such a nuissance, each time i buy her something new, sweets or clothes, a toy, whatever, she usually ends up calling it bad, or claiming that she doesnt want it. i have tried all sorts of reward, all sorts of punishment, nothing seems to work. i really pray for nothing more than waking up in the morning to find a loving, polite and grateful little girl.

my two year old daughter has gotten a really bad cold..runny nose, sneezing, and coughing..but her coughing gets so bad that she will throw up..most of what she is throwing up looks like mucous...It's really bad in the morning and at night when she's sleeping. What do you guys think is the best cough medicine..I want her coughing during the day so she can get it out..but I do want to give her something so she is able to sleep at night and isnt throwing up first thing in the morning..any suggestions...and dont tell me take her to the Dr..I already did and they said its just a bad cold and cough and the only thing we could do is treat her symptoms with over the counter stuff..she..well we got this from her dad and it pasted for him in a few days..hoping it does the same for her.

My 3-year old daughter has developed a very tiring and expensive new habit. At random times in the middle of the night, she gets out of her room and destroys anything she can get her hands on.

The fridge gets emptied (we've had to buy new food several times this month). As far as I can tell, she never eats any of the stuff, just dumps it out. (where the dog eats it and gets sick). This morning I got to clean up a lovely milk/orange juice mixture.
Anything in a container is taken out (lotion, cleaning products, etc). If she finds photographs, she tears them up. The wife's purse gets emptied. The one time we forgot to lock the bathroom door, she got on the kitchen counter, and my wife's seizure medications all went into the sink (a blessing in disguise, considering the alternative.

Her room has a gate, which she can climb over without me hearing even when I'm awake. We've tried everything. I really don't know what else to do, we're going broke and getting frustrated.

My daughter is 18 months old. We read together everyday. She plays with her kitchen and play food. She watches one video a day, usually baby einstein or sesame street. She follows me around the house while I pick up or do laundry, cook etc. She plays with playdo sometimes. Loves to pretend to be sleeping. We play peekaboo. We sing songs. Go over ABC's, shapes and numbers.
I am looking for some suggestions of activities to add to our routine. I think she is starting to get bored, I know I am. We don't have money to go out and do things. So that is out. We probably get out once or twice a week for normal grocery shopping and visiting.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I watch a 12 month old little girl and her breath is so bad. Its not like normal bad breath, it smells toxic. I don't know if its because she is just getting on milk or what. I don't recall my son every having breath like that. So I don't know if it has something to do with her diet? Any ideas on how to fix the bad breath. I can smell it a foot away its so strong.

Calling all parents who have traveled with little ones: My daughter is a lap child on our flight to Orlando (Disney). She will have a birthday during the vacation and will be two on the flight home. Do I need to buy her a seat even if she is only two days into her second year? Wouldn't they let her go? We are traveling on Delta. Please answer from experience. I don't need to hear about safety issues (I know them already). Thank you in advance for those who offer sincere advice.

I do not like the idea of hitting my daughter. If she is doing something dangerous (messing around an outlet etc.) then I have lightly swatted her diapered behind. At this age what can you do? Usually I just pull her away from what she is doing tell her no and try to redirect her. What if anything can you do about the tantrums? Ignore? She also is in a screaming phase she screams at the top of her lungs when she gets mad. HELP!!

Maybe someone will have some new advice. My 3 yo will not stay in bed and hasn't for a looong time. I have a 20 mo who shares a room w/ him. I am also pregnant, so throwing him back in bed over and over is not working at all. DH has no patience and won't do it. We have a very consistant bedtime routine, and same bedtime every night (7:30), but as soon as we leave the room they start screaming and laughing together. Have tried moving 3 yo to our bed (while waiting for little bro to sleep), but he just plays and destroys our room, so that doesn't work. There's not really any other place we can put him to seperate them. What can I do, I am going CRAZY here? (He refuses to sleep at bedtime or naptime for me, but will sleep just fine at the sitter's. I have NO trouble disciplining him, but I must be going at it the wrong way.) Thanks.

Does my four year old need to go to the doctor?
Yesterday while my daughter was with the sitter she happened to drink some orange juice that sat out all night. Ever since this she has been throwing up non stop, all through the night even. She probably has had about 3 hours sleep total. She can't keep anything down, no food no water or pedialyte.... absolutely nothing. so should I take her to hte doc or will they send us home? Help please.

My husband and I have large families that are really looking forward to my son's 1st birthday on 02/09. I was just going to do something at home with the 3 of us, but now my mother-in-law says if I don't want to do anything huge...that she's really like the party to be at her house. (which means my family would be excluded...and hurt.)

What type of activities can I do with 14+ adults...that would still celebrate my son's 1st birthday? (After all, he's 1...doesn't know what birthdays are...and probably won't be able to participate?)

I have tried a wet handtowel on the face.....
tickling.....
strip covers and clothing.....
setting one of those loud bell alarm clocks that you have to crank up....

and my 2 & 3 year old toddlers still don't want to get up out of bed.
Is their something else I can try or do to motivate my youngsters?

I bought my son some clothes (he's 2) and the zippers on the sweaters keep getting stuck and when I wash the pants they get warped around the waist .... same with the collers of his shirts... I get his clothes at target.... and they are about 20 dollars an outfit... I think it would be crazy to spend more than that, he only wears them for a few months. ....
