I wouldn't risk it if I were you. I never gave my kids any shell fish until they were about 10!

I gave my daughter prawns when she was about 8 months old and no problems.
So long as there are no allergies I can't see why not, its just fish after all.

No, not only do you not know if your child is allergic, but prawns are at higher risk of food poisoning than most other foods. Nuts, Peanut butter, strawberries, shellfish etc should all be avoided until your child is much older. children can also develop allergies to food they were introduced to prematurely.

Sea food is a high risk food and shell fish allergies are on the increase, I would wait until he is a little older. I am sure there are still lots of other lower risk foods for him still to discover! If you want him eating healthy fish how about poached salmon or some rainbow trout that has a nice mild flavour.

of direction that is! make sure they are thoroughly cooked although. After the age of one there are basically some issues which you won't be able to offer them - and as for the allergies - do you think of your mum and grandparents apprehensive approximately that!!?! No! they did no longer additionally be attentive to then - actual abstaining from giving a baby something is basically going to make a reaction later a)greater possibly and b)greater severe!! basically watch very intently for any sign of intolerance (nappies, gentle allergies etc) and be certain you're together with her whilst she has them so as that interior the very very uncommon cicumstance that she does have a reaction you factors prompt help- as you may with any new food! good success!
