My daughter cried a lot longer after this shot than what she normally would for a routine vacination shot.

It does hurt a little bit but it's a powder that they mix with Lidocaine that should make the injection site numb. It's also an intramuscular shot and they are more painful.

I know exactly how you feel, im 18 and I still get really scared before I have to get shots. I had to go to the doctor a couple weeks ago and I got two shots. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, it all depends on the shots though. I had meningitis and chicken pox and they barely hurt at all. I had tetnus a few years ago and that one hurt a little more but not too bad. If you have to get gardasil I haven't had it but I have heard it hurts pretty bad, but you should be fine! Good luck, remember to relax and look away this should help! I hope it isn't too bad!

My daughter was given this injection when she had a kidney infection to jump start the other antiobiotic they were using. She had to be given it in two seperate shots because they used so much. The doctore said that it would hurt more because it was thicker than most injections. I will say though it does work. Withing 24 hours my dauther went from having over 103 temps to 99 and 100's. She had been running the 103's for 5 days and we were told it was just a virus but it was a kidney infection.
