Hi everyone.

i have a 4 year old, turns 5 in March. he has just started school, Already his teacher has told me he has trouble listening. We we're told by his pre-school teacher last year that he may have ADHD. I got fairly upset by that and took him to my doctor who said he's just being a kid.

He is very hyper, all the time. Whenever I try and take him anywhere, it's like a switch goes on in his head and he just plays up constantly. No matter what I say or do, he just keeps on going. I've tried the whole leave when he plays up, time out, taking away favourite toys, but that only works for a day, then it's back to the same old thing.

We can't get him to sleep earlier than 10 or 11 at night, no matter what we try he just stays awake!

Im thinking of looking into his diet, cutting out all sugars and things, but not sure where to start.

If anyone has any ideas or advice for me it would be great.

I just don't want him to start having problems in school so young.

I am 71/2 months pregnant and just found out that my baby has a heart condition and is going to have to have multiple surgeries. The hospital I have to go to is 3 hours away so I will have to stay near there. I have a 6 year old boy and 3 year old girl already so I have to pull my son out of school to come with me. My 3 year old isn't old enough to understand but how do I explain all of this to my 6 year old? He is always asking me why I am crying and things like that, I just don't know how to tell him something so devastating.

my son just turned a year and where I live its down to below zero temps and my furnace has a hard time keeping the house warm. My son pulls his socks off all the time and I have to constantly put them back on. Also they feel real cold if I let him go w/out socks. How do I teach him not to pull them off?

I just noticed that my daughter puts her tongue behind her teeth to make the "s" sound instead of behind her top teeth. She does still use a pacifier (yeah, I know, we're working on that right now), so I wonder if that has caused this or affected it. Is this a normal stage of speech development that will pass on its own, or is this something that's going to have to be addressed? Has anyone else dealt with this before? I intend to talk to her pediatrician, but we've been having problems receiving reliable information from her so I thought I'd check around with other parents, too. Any ideas?

There have been several occassions where I have found my son rubbing his penis against people or toys or even touching it constantly. Today my son's father found my son in the living room with his pants down and rubbing his penis onto a ball. Should I be concerned?

I have a son that is 3 in March. He is a handful when we go out shopping. He hates being in the stroller but when he's out, he doesn't want to hold hands and tries to run off. We take the stroller anyway and use it as a threat and that generally works but because of this I don't go out with him alone. I have to have at least one other adult with me. I am so over this stage in his childhood, just wondered what age approx, do they tend to start walking nicely with you when you are out together.

I know it depends on how many people are coming to the party & what you are planning to do. But I'm curious to see what people generally spend on a birthday party.

My son is going to turn 1 in a month & I'm starting to plan for his birthday party:)

Hi, The first of January we moved our 22 month old son into his new "big boy" bedroom, which included moving him from a crib to a toddler bed. He did great. The first couple nights he woke up scared but after that we had no problems. Now all of the sudden he is waking up at like 1,3,4,6am and coming into our room to play. We put him back in his bed do the normal good night routine and head back to bed...this goes on for about an hour of up and down's untill he finally falls back asleep. Do you have any sugestions on getting him to sleep through the night again? I can't just let him roam because there are a few dangers he might get into if unsupervised. Help please. Thank you

I have a 1 year old baby and he has gone from a sweet natured little thing to one that screams, smacks and throws tantrums if he cant get his own way. If I tell him no he mostly ignores me or throws a tantrum...mainly he just ignores though. I feel like all I do is tell him off, I dont want him to hate me...I just want him to learn respect and to do as he's told...it seems that it's not woking though, he just hates me !!

I work 4 days a week, 7:45 in the morning to 5pm. (that is the agreement anyway.) But usually, I don't get to leave until about 30 minutes later then the parents say they will be home, they have only been on time twice in the past 3 weeks.
I watch the 2 year old, teach him numbers and letters, vaccum, put away dishes, take thelittle boy outside and to the park, soon I will be driving him places too. I only get $150 a week.
I worked with them for awhile now, and I used to get $200 a week for less hours, before the jobs were switched.
And, I haven't been paid yet for the past 3 weeks. I am owed $450 and might not get all of the money when I'm paid. I was supposed to be paid yesterday, then today. And still nothing. I want to quit but I hate being mean and disapointing people... and I love the little guy. I feel like they are taking avantage of how much I care about the little boy.
Am I just overreacting?

MY daughter is about to turn 2 and my husband and I have been trying to get her off the bottle and onto a sippy cup since she was 18 months but nothing has helped. We have tried to just let her cry untill she ends up using it..she would just cry ALL DAY or untill she threw up and then would start crying harder. We have ran out of options and dont know what else to try. She was born premature and the bottle seems to be a security item for her since she never used a passifier. ALSO she has not learned to talk well yet so its hard for us to tell her that the sippy will be the only thing that you can use since she's a big girl now.... I would like to know so other options or suggestions to help me....PLEASE NO RUDE OR UNWANTED COMMENTS!!! or I will report you.
