-Follow him around with the humidifier. During the day, keep it in the living room, when he's sleeping keep it in his room, etc...
-Put a layer of vaseline between his nose and upper lip if he has a runny nose. This will keep the skin under his nose from getting chapped.
-Lots and lots of fluids! Orange juice is great (vitamin C builds the immune system), water is good too. And believe it or not, a cup of room temperature coke will ease his stomach if he gets nauseas.
-Warm baths help as well. Have a cold can often give you the "chills" and a warm bath is a great cure for those! Baths are also relaxing, which is what he needs to do if he's not feeling well.
-Have him sleep as much as possible. The body heals quicker when you sleep. Set up a special place for him on the couch where he can just hang out and rest during the day.
Like mentioned above, some cold medicines can be too strong for kids at this age. If you feel he needs cold medicine, then give him only a little over half a regular dose.

-cough/throat drops that are in lollipop form
-warm baths, there are also baby vicks type products to add to the water
-saline drops for his/her nose
-warm herbal tea(no caffeine) with honey and lemon
-lots of other liquids
-we use pediacare infant drops decongestant for our 2 year old, it has pseudoephedrine in it so it may be behind the counter, it is the best decongestant i have found
-and usually either tylenol or motrin a couple of times a day for headache
_children's vick's patches(i don't remeber if it is vick's brand or not but, they stick on and work longer than the rub on stuff)
-popsicles for sore throats or throat strips, i think the "little" brand makes them

First of all, if your child has a productive cough with lots of mucus (green or yellow) take your child to the hospital, or wait until morning and take your child to their pediatrician. Pneumonia is very easy for kids to catch, and it is very deadly for babies. It is also pneumonia season. Your child is still young, so he or she cannot tell you what is wrong. If you notice your child is having a hard time breathing, or his/her chest seems to rising and falling drastically, then do not wait until morning. Don't ever take chances when it comes to your child. If your concerned about his.her health, speak to a medical professional.

hot baths,
hot water with honey in it,
and whatever you do, DO NOT give the 2 year old cold medicine like tylenol because studies have shown that ingredients in cold medicines are too strong for children to handle and so they can die so dont do that. boil water, put vicks in it, take a bathing towel, and put the towel over his head and tell him/her to breath through its nose and that works too.

Lots of fluids and plenty of rest. Let them sleep as much as they can. Check with your peditrican if it's ok to give some over the counter cold medicine to relieve some of the stuffiness - ask him/her what brand they prefer.

Humidifier in the room at night
Hot baths (not too hot!)
Lots of fluids
If it persists, take the baby to the doctor. It might be something else.
