I have 15 month old son and I am trying to find someone that can babysit odd hours. We would probably only need someone for a couple of hours Sun-Thurs and sometimes on weekend nights. I have never left my son with any sitter that was not in our family or lived next door. Is there a way to go on line or some kind of service that I can use to find a good sitter in my area (Richmond-Petersburg VA)? Thanks.

Ever since my son was born I have been with him 24/7, except for a few occasions where I would leave him with my husband or mother for a few hours. It's usually just me and my son all day. I was never able to get anything done durring the day because I would constantly be palying or holding my son, but it's getting too much. Now that he walks, as soon as I leave the room, to go to the bathroom or kitchen he follows me and wants me to pick him up. He gets mad when he sees me doing anything that doesn't involve him eg. talking on the phone, using computer, watching tv. All those things are pretty much off limits while he is awake. How do I get him to play by himself, and not be so attached? He wont even go to his dad.

We allowed our daughter to start sleeping with us about a month ago when she was sick, and now she won't even go in her room. She screams and throws a tantrum if you leave her alone or in her bed. We even tried leaving her in there for a half hour, and sleeping on the floor with her. Neither worked.

For last past two months my two year old has not had a very big appetite, wakes up at night crying, cries during the day, and just seems like she's in pain. The last past fews has been alot worse for her. I dont know what to do. She wont tell me if anything hurts or not. Me and my husband just feel we are at a lost. She is a very little girl weighing in at 21lbs, and about 30 inches tall. I thought maybe it could be her kidenys cause a few months ago her urine had a horriable smell to it. I just dont know.

My daughter is 4 and turning 5 this fall. She is starting kindergarten. I am a little nervous, but from what i hear that is normal for all mothers. I need some web sites that have free test for her of some thing that can give me a lesson plan to help me give her what she needs to know.
She can count to 10 colors shapes running dance and no problems with speech.
I just need a mother to talk to who has went though this process already, that can give me some ideas. Even tell me to chill out! I understand my child is smart, when it come to the basics but as all parents i want my kid to do her best.

thank you
worried mother

Do you have a few minutes? Do you have a: child/few children/baby on the way? What better way to celebrate than to take a survey?

I am working on a graduate study project involving baby accessories and the accessories you buy for them! Think strollers, and all the things you attach to them (drink holders, baskets, etc...) The project is for a design class that focuses on one aspect of children's needs.

The survey itself will take between 5 and 10 minutes. Responses will be viewed only by me, but the general results will be shared with my class of 8.

If you, or anyone you know, has/had/will have a child, please take a few minutes and fill out a quick questionaire. All responses are very much appreciated!

my daughter is 13 months. i've noticed within the last month she won't give kisses. before we would say "kiss" and she'd do the classic baby open mouth kiss. now we say kiss and she turns her head away. isn't that weird? has anyone else ever had this with their kids?

My son seems to be becoming more and more attached to the bottle. He asks for a "baba" several times a day. I am worried about his teeth. He drinks the milk and then will continue to suck on the empty bottle. He gets hysterical if I refuse to give him one, or when I take the empty one from him. I know he sees it as comforting and feel terrible taking that from him.

I'm curious to know if anyone breastfed beyond their child's first birthday. My son's doctor told me today that now that he is 1 year old I "should starting the weaning process now." I'm thinking about continuing... but everyone that I talk to seems to be of the consensus that it's time I wean my 1 year old son. My mother even said that she agrees with the doctor. Is there little or no reason to breast feed beyond the first year?? Thanks.

I received a telemarketing call, now they're sending someone over to the house. They sent me an information package and it all sounds pretty good but I've never heard of anyone's personal experience and they did not mention cost at all which does worry me.

I have a 3 year old girl that refuses to potty train.. it is quite frustrating.. any pointers?? we have tried everything.. she goes once in awhile but she is really stubborn and will still poop her self or stand in the middle of the living room look down and pee on the floor.. we have tried explaining but it seems useless.. I have a doctors apointment to discuss this with him but perhaps some pointer from parents that might have had the same issues might help as well.. all of your comments and pointer would be greatly appreciated.

We have many in the house and they are played with so I don't want to put them in storage just keep in something. I have seen people use bookcases, are there any other alternatives? What do you do?

Bookcase is too big for the available space and conventional toy boxes cannot hold them all!

My twenty month old has a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. What should I do to help him?

He has activities during the day; playing outside or inside, running around with me when I need to go out. He also has his down time; reading a book, watching a tv show.

I tried to relax him more with music, Country worked for awhile. Now he'd prefer Rap, but I don't like that for him. My sister let him listen to it.

His night time bath is relaxing, but sometimes he just won't go to sleep.

Thanks for the help.

When do babys stop teething????

2007-02-02 10:20:08 · 7 answers · asked by BabyQuestions 1

She is an outgoing, happy toddler, good sleeper, fairly good eater, but is biting other children in her daycare sometimes 3-4 times per week, and she also bites Mom and sometimes Dad. We have been able to find no pattern in her biting. We've tried the stern "No bite!" (she laughs), removing her from the situation (comes right back and bites again) and I even slapped her hand lightly when I was at my wits end. She laughed and slapped my hand back. This is clearly a game for her, but no one else is laughing. She may get kicked out of her daycare if this does not stop. Help!

I am afraid that my daughter is gaining too much weight. She doesn't eat alot of junky foods but does not get much exercise. Is it wrong to ask advice on whether I should start daily or every second day exercise (walking, sledding, yoga for kids) with her? I was a big kid when I was younger too.
