if it's due to a sinus drainage, then you can get some saline nasal spray and put a few drops in her nose every so often to help keep her comfortable. This may help the coughing some by keeping the nasal passages hydrated and reducing some of the "snot" that's draining down into the throat/lungs.
Vicks vaporrub works good, but you need to get the Baby formula OR dilute the normal stuff by using some other creme before rubbing it onto her chest & back.

Cool Mist humdifier will help together with his respiration. Saline drops will ruin it up. As fas the cough, there is not something you're able to do approximately that. it's going to might desire to run it is course. chilly/cough medicine has been shown not artwork with infants. it is why they pulled it off the cabinets. My chum's 3yrs previous son has the flu and he would be unable to take something for his chilly--only the fever. they only save him crammed with fluids. desire infant feels extra sensible.

Elevate the head of her crib, this will help the fluids drain. Run the humidifier in her room, if you don't have one I would recommend a cool mist humidifier, you can get them for about $10-20 at the drug store. The medicines don't really help, they just supress the symptoms and delay recovery. I wouldn't give her medicine unless the cough is keeping her up at night.

She's a year? It's not a fancy, schmancy medicine, but my great-grandmother used to give us this when we had sore throats as kids.
Try warm, almost hot, water with some lemon and honey. The two together will help the throat pain, and the honey will keep it sweet for her.
You're looking to make it not too sweet or too sour, too watery or too thick ;)

If you are giving her something with a cough suppressant in it, don't give her anything else for the cough. It's called an overdose.
