Well I go other way around and will support you on the decision to use right hand. My child started to use left hand first and that was fine but I also taught her to use right hand so we do a little with left and then little with right. You have to give them opportunity to experience both. Just play little games with her they learn fast! It's obvious that your child bright and just remember she might be very good at arts and music. My girl is teen now and she is awesome on the piano and very good at math, very talented! She is using right hand for eating and writing. You are mum and no one can tell you what is the best for your child, my suggestion is to teach her use both hands!

A nice guy would recognize that wanting to be "as close as possible" to a girl less than half his age with whom he's had a handful of brief interactions is an incredibly creepy sentiment. This guy is not nice. He either has issues that should preclude him from working with students, is counting on you being too nice to call him on the inappropriateness of what he is doing, or both. Tell him you are not interested in any kind of personal relationship with him, you do not want him to call you, and that while you don't want to get him in trouble, you will report him to the university (specifically, campus security and whatever department supervises cafeteria staff) if he does not respect your wishes. Then follow through.

I am guessing you are right handed so you want her to be right handed. Both of my parents were right handed but i am not. However, i only write and eat left handed and do every thing else right handed. She might only end up doing a few things left handed like me or maybe everything. Just let her be, you'll be able to help her no matter what hand she uses if that's what you're worried about.

If you do that then she will become confused and won't know what hand to use when she gets older. If she is left handed that's alright. Majority of people are right handed, but there alot of people who are left to.

Why would you want to stop her?? It is believed by many that a left hander is likely to be more intelligent and creative!
She is a bit young to determine wether she will be left handed or not...and if she is, then it is just a part of WHO SHE IS....why would you want to change that?? Some people write with their left hand and perform other tasks with their right hand and vice versa. You could try to change her...but it has thus far been unsuccessful.
Oh, and by the way...Jimi Hendrix is left handed!

No. Why would you do that? There is nothing wrong with being left handed. We are just like everyone else, except we do some things backwards. You might be able to encourage her to use her other hand too, so she becomes ambidextrous. But, you cannot change your dominant hand. I am a leftie, I do things exactly like my peers, except, I use my left hand. I am ambidextrous, but not to the point of it being easy to use my right hand. There is nothing you can do.

Why would you want to? It is natural to her, let her be. Lots of people are left handed, including me! Here is a list of Famous left handed people! Her being left handed is part of her own uniqueness.

WHY???
Let her be.
PLUS...Left handed players in sports, say lacrosse, baseball and field hockey etc. are desired. Its hard for righty's to shoot that way.
Why would you change the way she naturally want to use her left hand.??? Doesn't make any sort of sense.
Are we missing something?
