When they start "toddling"! Generally from the time they take their first steps until they are steady on their feet or until 2 1/2 or so, when they get the new label of "preschooler".

Of course, the definition may be different for different purposes. The clothing industry generally refers to children as "toddlers" from about 2 yrs - 4 yrs (note the "T" after the number size).

I personally think when they start to walk they are a toddler. But I think most people would say a year to 3 years.

I have 17 month son I think he is a toddler how ever I realy dont know so let me know if you find out anything..

They are considered a toddler once they start walking or toddling around
