We have many in the house and they are played with so I don't want to put them in storage just keep in something. I have seen people use bookcases, are there any other alternatives? What do you do?

Bookcase is too big for the available space and conventional toy boxes cannot hold them all!

We bought a Pet Net. They have them at Wal-Mart. They can be put low, so that the child can reach them and put them away themselves when they are finished playing with them. I love it. It keeps them off the floor/beds. Hope that this helps.

I had when i was little the toy chains that you peg your toys to! This way i used to rotate the ones that i was not using at the time to the top of the chain, and the loved at the time ones down the bottom. Now i am a mum, i would reccomend this idea to, as i find it works, and the kids like helping peg up teddies, is a bit like helping with hanging out washing! As well as the toy chain, i also have a hanging 'cupboard' can not remember what was called when i brought it, but is an open shelfed hanging device, i guess somewhat like a bookshelf, but takes up far less room and is soft, these are excellent to for cubby holes for teddys! Good luck :) It seems a never ending battle ah :)

In view of the fact that they seem to reproduce overnight, storage of stuff animals is a challenge.

I have three kids who had two living grandmothers, two aunts, and a mother and father who couldn't resist a particularly adorable stuffed animal; so imagine my problem....

You may have to give a corner of the room to something like colorful, giant, laundry bags for the animals; or else devote a closet to them. There are also the nets that you put up high in the corner of the room and sit animals in them.

If their bedrooms are small, and you want to use the bag-'em method you could make space in closets or in the corner of a family room for the bags (either one closet for all the animals or one closet-bottom for each child).

I relied heavily on the closet shelves, as well. My daughter's closet had the child-sized clothes hanging on the rack, so that left half the bottom of the closet to put a small chest of drawers in and sit animals/dolls on that and the bags next to it. I left the shelf for animals/dolls too, so when I opened the door it was neat, organized, closet with a bunch of cuties peaking out and some cute wooden cut-outs on the inside of the door. In other words, make the interior of the closet a "feature" of the room, rather than just a place where stuff gets stuffed in or hung.

you can buy toy nets, which are basically a net hammock that you put them in and it can be suspended anywhere, or a toy chain, a long plastic chain that is sttached to the ceiling that has clips on it which u attatch to the toys. Personally I find the toy hammock keaps better it holds heaps of the lil critters and so easy just to toss them into it!

A toy net/hammock is ideal, it can be adjusted to the height so your child can easily reach the toys, then put them away when he or she is done with them.

We use plastic organizer drawers for toys--you can stack them and see through the sides. Also available are long plastic "chains" that you can install in the ceiling--these come with clips so you just attach the animals and they just hang

Some people get those Rubber Maid open, roped, tub-like containers that you can pull or drag. It's easy to put the animals away in these for the kids--you can get an assortment of colors.

They make those nets that you can hang up and store them all in. Those are great because the kids can just toss them in the net and it's easy for them to reach when they want to play again later.
