my daughter is 13 months. i've noticed within the last month she won't give kisses. before we would say "kiss" and she'd do the classic baby open mouth kiss. now we say kiss and she turns her head away. isn't that weird? has anyone else ever had this with their kids?

They all go through a period where they stop kissing. I think they just get tired of it personally. But never fear it comes back and they will kiss you again soon.

Nope, that's not weird. She's expressing her will and she might not be the cuddly huggy type. Give her space and she'll love on you again. My son is so huggy feely kissy, it's almost embarassing. My daughter is polar opposite. She gave me the first kiss in 10 days this afternoon! Don't worry about it. She still loves you.

Some children don't appreciate the "soft" touch of a kiss. It is actually disconcerting to them. If she turns her head away it means that it is not a pleasant sensation for her. Perhaps you could ask her for a hug instead? Children who avoid soft touches often crave firm touch. So a firm hug may be just the ticket.

My son is 8 years old and is still this way. He actually pulls away if someone touches him lightly but he loves super hard hugs.

Its completely normal she is at the age where she is learning that she doesn't have to do what you want her to do, just relax in no time she will be giving you lots of kisses again!!!
