Bring a backpack with books, age-appropriate games, and some art materials. They will be drawn to you immediately and really enjoy it when you come over. Change the stuff every now and then to keep it exciting - that was the best trick I ever learned in babysitting.
I don't know what else you are looking for - do what the parents ask of you, try to adhere to their regular schedules, and don't let the kids talk you out of it! ;) Have fun!

4 year olds are chatterboxes and would like you to pay attencion while they are speaking, and 6 year olds often like drawing. All of them like stories and can usually talk to you and tell you where to find things in the house or how you are not doing something the same way mommy does. They are also all old enough to dislike bedtime.

I have a 3 year old and a six year old (both boys!!!) They love leggo, reading books, going to the park, playing sports outside and watching dvd's. Most of all they will want LOTS of your attention!!! It will be full on, but lots of fun! Good luck!!!!

Turn on the TV and let them watch Dora the Explorer or SpongeBob! This works for me!
