My friend and I are babysetting a 3 year old. She has never had a babysetter and she is sad because her mom is gone. Is there a way we can cheer her up? She won't watcher her favorite movie and she unbuttoned her clothes and wont let us button it back up...

why don't you read her a book or sing her a song? You could also give her some candy or even make a puppet show. That way she'll forget about her mom. Good luck!

Try playing a bunch of fun games with her. Make creative snacks with her like bumps on a log(peanutbutter and celry with raisins) or maybe bake a cake with her. Try making popcorn to go along with her favorite movie. Also try hide and seek. And also reassure her that her mom is going to come back.

Find out what she likes to watch and listen to and then try to act out/sing some of the sillier things she likes. Just act like a big goof ball and she should come around ORRRRR go the opposite way and act like you are helpless and NEED HER help to figure out how to do little things, let her feel like she is in charge/smarter than you

Can she bring her "baby" a doll to your house to take care of? my 3 year old likes to take her cabbage patch doll with her when we go to a sitters and a play diaper bag with doll clothes and baby bottle etc. so she can play mom and take care of her baby. the sitter always gets her distracted with a line like "oh look sweetie your baby needs you shes crying and is hungry, can you help take care of her" seems to work for her... just a thought. ha ha stripping is common with little kids..lol have you tried playing with her toys with her?just sitting her down in front of the tv wont do..shes three shes going to get up in move around in like 5 mins..just try playing with her dolls with her.or coloring ..she might like that..or you could turn on some music and try getting her to dance.. just have to dance too though..lol..

try not letting her see your frusterated she allready is try to keep he busy coloring see who can make the funniest face. make a simple recipe that dosent use the stove. next time have a note woke with ideas and a small bag with crafts in it
