On my daughter 1st b-day I had all the guests sign a little message and their name on a picture mat. I then took a pic of the b-day girl and put it in the center. I love it because whenever I see it on her wall it reminds me of that day!!!

Whatever shes into. My daughter loves blues clues so we want to use that as a theme.

A gift for a 1 year old...i think the only thing theyd really want is a toy. But maybe take her to chuckie cheese or some place like that.

We had a party tea with a cake and balloons etc for family only. As for presents, it had just been Xmas (she's a February baby) so we got her a baby trampoline for the garden, she loved it and still does (she's now 3 this month), we also got skittles and some other outdoor toys for the better weather. My mum and dad got her a sandpit which was a great hit. Remember and take lots of photos as time flies past sooooo fast!!!

One idea not really a gift idea but a birthday idea that I use with all three of my children I created a birthday blanket. Just bought some pretty quilting squares and made a small quilt and every year the guests sign a new square for the first year i painted their hand print and foot print. Its something they use every year. And it helps to treasure the memories write whatever you want on it their fav movie food whatever and its nice always to see who came to their parties. if you dont like to sew a sheet will do.

For Favors for my daughters 1st birthday (the younger kids) I gave out CD's with kids songs on them. For the kids to listen in there rooms or in the car! In the front of the CD I had a picture of my Daugher that said Jenna's First Birthday on top and the date on the bottom! The parents loved it and thought it was a great idea. For her second party (just recently) I gave a beanie baby to each child ages 1 - 11. and a playdough. they all liked that too. I have tons of beanie babies that I collected and never touched. To me they are brand new, so I used them (saved money) Hope this helped! Email me if you wish! I think you can by clicking on my Avatar!

Also, for games for everyone, I had my kids count out something, I forget what it was...and put them in a jar, and had a box on the side for people to guess how much was in the jar. (had gift card for prize). Also had 1st birthday doggy for everyone to sign! she loves the doggy! Also had A treasure chest decorated, like a time capsule kind of thing, and had paper and pens for people to write wishes to her and put them in the chest. So I can read them to her when she is older!

How about a personalized book? Kids love to hear their name in the storyline. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They have lots of titles like Sesame Street, Ballerina Princess, Little Mermaid, Three Little Pigs, Mother Goose, Teddy Bear Land and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful & unique gift... Good Luck!

I went a little to far I must admit. My daughter is a summer baby. So it was a Luau theme. I got all decorative decorations on line and at partycity. I got her a clown. We videotaped everything and she had a ball seeing all the people. At the end it was worth it. The party came out beautiful.

i like the idea 'bout donating money to a savin' account
how 'bout buying some gold for her to wear.
it will help people know she's a girl!
for the bday invite a few friends or family members over.
just a little party save the cash 4 times she will remeber!
Remember to take loads of photos , trust me, she'll cherish them as she grows up.

She is going to be 1. she will play with the boxes. she may even become upset with too many people at your house. so keep it simple very simple . she will never ever remember and will never hold it against you for not spending thousands on her 1st birthday.
