My son is 3.5. He has always treated me normal but about a week ago i changed my shirt in front of him (my bra was still on) and he stared and then told me i was pretty. He repeated it several times and then gave me a hug. It made me feel really awkward and i havent changed in front of him since. Is this normal? It just felt so funny to me, like he shouldnt have said that.

My nephew is 11 and slow and a bit challanged...my sister works and so she wants to take him to a daycare after school. He will be the only kid there over 5 but my sister says it is fine and besides....he has potty accidents enough that he might just do well in such an environment. What will the daycare teachers and aids think if he does get sent to there in underpants and has an accident? My wife and I are worried about him but should we just let it go/

as the child lacks focus and the wish, it tends to overlook such an activity. Maybe some expert or some parent has overcome such indifference to an activity which would normally impress most kids.

Is there one bed option that a baby can use from birth until a few years old?

Is there a difference between a crib and a cot?

What sort of ages do kids go from one sleeping option to the next, i.e. moses basket/crib/cot/bed with rails etc?

We'd like to just buy once if this is possible, but if not we want to plan ahead so that we don't have to change beds and spend more than necessary.

Thanks!

Our daughter is stuck. It took her forever to learn signs. At one time, she learned how to do "all done" "milk" "drink" and "eat." She is now 13 months and she just does one sign. It's a variation of "milk." It's more like she's snapping her fingers at us. And it's a guessing game. Once she snaps, we try milk, eat, drink, that toy over there, sleep, etc. If we don't get it, she gets annoyed and snaps her fingers right in our ear. She thinks if she gets closer to us, we'll understand.
We continue to use the original signs, but she gave them up in lieu of this new thing.
What can we do???
Thanks

...used her potty for the first time today! She is 22 months old, and I'm sure it was a fluke, but it was an achievement nontheless.

So, what would you like to brag about?
10 points for the one that makes me smile the most...

I'm asking this question because as parents, we are often tearing our hair out about the 'naughty', or undesirable things our children are doing, I thought it might be nice if we could share some happy times today.

My 2 year old boy has started putting his hands in his diaper. It looks as if he is either scratching or just touching his bottom. I've checked and he doesn't have a rash or anything back there. Also the other day when changing his diaper I found a small toy piece (wooden stop sign from one of his thomas train sets) in his diaper. Could he just be exploring? He laughs when I catch him and ask him what he's doing. This has only been going on for a week.

My son is almost 15 months old and since his teeth are coming in rather quickly, he has been refusing to eat anything else other than bananas, cereal, yogurt or crackers. He will have one good night a week where he will eat somehting like chicken tenders or fish sticks, or PB and J. Then all the sudden the next day he wont eat anything. I am sooo frustrated bc I feel he isnt getting enough proteins. Please help.

We just started potty-training my daughter (28 months old). What finally got her going was putting her in panties and letting her soil herself about twice. Now she always tells us, and doesn't have any more accidents.

Then she started waking up dry from her naps. We were amazed. Then she started waking up dry after a good nights rest. We were floored. All this happened in about two weeks!

Is this normal?, she's so little, but she's going to the bathroom like a big girl and doing so well! She only bothers us about going potty during the day about ever 3 hours. She might have an accident like once a week, if even that!

Should I have a party?

Normally my daughter (she is 2) sleeps well from about 9 pm to about 8am. Lately she has been waking up during the night about 4 or 5 times. She has a snack and a bottle (yes, she still has a night time bottle) before bed and nothing has changed in her life, has anybody else experienced this or maybe know why she is doing this?? She is not teething either.

My son whines over everything. It does not matter if you are trying to help him or asking him if he would like to bring some toys into the living room to play. He whines at the drop of a hat. I can't make him stop. This started about 1 1/2 years ago and has only gotten worse. He has not had a father figure in his life until the past year when I met the most wonderful man who tries his best to be patient with him. But even he is starting to lose his cool. I am afraid that he, knowing that my children are not his, will get tired of the constant whining in the house and leave. He loves my children very much and would do anything for them. (I have two daughters - ages 5 and 7 as well) My son has been surrounded by females his entire life and he needs to toughen up. He doesn't play like most boys his age. I can't take the whining anymore. I have tried removing him from activities, putting him in time out, talking with him about whining, and I have even whined back at him. Nothing works!HELP

We have lived in our apt. for the past 25 years. We now have a neighbor from hell. 1. Called the fire company, ambulance and apt. manager to report that we are using"strong chemicals" in our apt. and causing her to have an asthma attack. 2. The apt. manager investigates us for these chemicals. 3. She has recently started to run the vacuum cleaner in the wee hours of the morning which of course wakes us up.4. Curses, screams and threatens her daughter constantly 6. Recently on of our neighbors witnessed her beating up her 16 year old daughter. 7. 3 nights ago they woke up the neighborhood with a screaming fight in the front yard. 8. She slams the door 20 times a day so hard that things are falling off of our walls and our windows shake. Our problem is that we have been to the manager and she immediately went to our neighbor and reported it which made matters 10 times worse. I really like our apt. manager as a person but this has gotten out of hand. How do we handle this crazy woman.

To all the moms out there. How did you change your baby over to Whole Milk? My Daughter is almost 13 months and she hates whole milk. I've tried everything from putting chocolate in it and I've heated it up but she won't take it. I have no clue on how to ease her into the whole milk thing.

Actually it's not as bad as that... lately when my husband says, "I love you" to our 2 1/2 year old son, he replies, "I don't love you." It really hurts my husband's feelings. I'm sure our son will grow out of it, but what's the best reaction?

My husband is a bit more strict with our son than I am and I think he sets them up for a battle of wills (whereas I am more gentle but more implaccable). No drastic difference though. Thanks for your thoughts.
