To all the moms out there. How did you change your baby over to Whole Milk? My Daughter is almost 13 months and she hates whole milk. I've tried everything from putting chocolate in it and I've heated it up but she won't take it. I have no clue on how to ease her into the whole milk thing.

I eased my daughters into whole milk by giving them 1/2 formula, 1/2 milk in their bottles. Gradually I would increase the amount of milk and lessen the amount of formula. I did this about every 3 or 4 days until they were drinking all milk. They didn't seem to notice at all. I broke them from the bottle at 12 months but if your daughter drinks from a cup I don't see any reason why you couldn't do the same thing with a sippy cup.
Good Luck!

If she on formula, mix 3/4 formula with 1/4 milk. for 3 days, then 1/2 and 1/2 for 3 days, then 1/4 formula 3/4 milk for 3 days then straight milk.

Breastfed....... My daughter didn't like it at first either. Keep trying, Small amounts of a low fat milk (1/2 percent) at a time. It will take time for her taste buds to switch over from breastmilk. Then work her back up to whole milk, same as formula mix above.

My daughter is 13 months also. I started weening her by adding a little bit of milk at a time to her formula. Then half then just a little until its all milk. It took about 2 weeks. She doesn't even notice anymore. I am still warming them up though. She has always been particular about the temp.

I hope this helps.

My daughter didn't take to well either. At twelve months, I trashed all of her bottles and replaced them with sippy cups, and then I gave her only whole milk and water. She did not drink well for three days, but once she realized there was no more breast milk and formula she drank it without a problem. Good luck!

Mix the whole milk with formula and every few days add a little more milk and a little less formula. Also with my boys snack they get milk mixed with a yogurt smoothie, and they really enjoy that and that is better than mixing it with chocolate!

I agree with either keeping her on formula(they have advanced formula for children over 12 months) or start mixing formula with Milk and slowly cut back on the formula til' it's all milk. Also instead of putting chocolate in her milk have you tried giving her the chocolate flavor children's supplement drinks, that won't supplement for milk or formula but it will add lots of extra nutrients for her and taste yummy.

I had no problems. Went cold turkey on their first birthday. Maybe you should try half and half formula/whole milk and gradually change it till it's all whole milk over a month or so.

first off... no more chocolate. All she is going to want is chocolate, and thats basically candy. So start healthy and stay healthy.

Trey mixing it with formula (thats what I did). 2oz milk 4oz formula. Gradually lower the amount of formula and add more milk. My son was completely on whole milk by the time he was 12mos old.

If you havent already, switch to a sippy cup.

mix her whole milk with formula. ex. day 1 - 75% formula 25% milk and then gradually up the milk and decrease the formula until she can drink whole milk alone.
