Can anyone give me any advice. My son still isn't potty trained. He refused to wear big boy underwear and throws a huge crying fit when I try to put them on him or ask him which ones he wants to wear(he has many different kinds he picked out) and he goes and gets his diapers himself. And/or yells for his diaper and wants only that.
We have tried pull ups, the cold sensitive ones..etc. and nothing seems to work. We give him stickers when he does use the potty to pee.
When he was 2 years old he used the potty for pee and poop for about 2 weeks and then reverted back to diapers. I just thought it was too soon to go then and so I didn't push him to use the potty. I figured he would go and use it when he was ready.

Now I am concerned that he is still in diapers at 3 years and 4 mos old. Oh and I am having another baby. I am due June 2nd and I really thought my son would be out of diapers by now.
any advice?????????????

About six months ago, my daughter (than two) witnessed a man have a heart attack and break his head open on the pavement. Ever since then, she has been obsessed with death and killing. She asks alot of questions and I try to answer them the best way I can- I guess in efforts to ease her mind. When she plays with her dolls, usually one doll is dying and the other doll is trying to save her. She has told me she wants to be a doctor to "save people" and when ever we go to our doctor's she always thinks someone is dyingin the next room. I highly doubt this is normal behavior and I think she was very much effected by witnessing the man have the heart attack. But I dont know what to do. Should I worry about this?

My 4 year old daughter has a bad attitude. She will yell at you and she gets really angry. she never hits anyone, she just doesn't listen. she will do the exact opposite that you tell her. and if you tell her no she will go to another person and ask for the same thing and so on, until someone says yes. how can i get her to actually listen to me?

My daughter was taking a nap during the day and sleeping around 10 hours at night. Now for the last four weeks or so she refuses a daytime nap.

Now she's not napping and she's sleeping around 10-11 hours in total at night.

Is this enough sleep for a child of this age? She still seems cranky sometimes without her nap.

When my husband and I divorced...my son and I had to move into a one bedroom apartment. We share a room, but have our own beds. In the beginning he was going through seperation anxiety so I let him sleep with me for a while (maybe not the best choice)...but he is fine now. Only problem is...he WILL NOT sleep in his bed. Any tips??

in the last 3 weeks my son has decided to try to get out of the house every chance he gets.I have a deadbolt on the front door which can only be opened by key, but if someone leaves it unlocked he goes outside alone and runs down the street and if a car goes by he starts chasing it. I have spanked him, yelled at him, told him no but he doesnt get it. Today my uncle was babysitting for me and when I got home my neighbor came screaming at me that my son could have been hurt or worse because he was out wondering the streets. Please any suggestions on how to make him understand??

Hi Everyone.

I am potty training my 3 year old daughter. Yes I know she's old!!! ;) Anyway, she is making absolutely great strides in the last couple of days but I don't know how to help her pee all at once. She will pee just a little for like an hour if I let her sit there that long. She of course doesn't want to sit on there because she doesn't want to be there forever. When I put her on this morning I ran water and also talked to her about relaxing the muscles in her privates and pushing with the muscles in her tummy. I think it helped a bit because she peed a lot more but does anyone have better words to use or a better way to help her get it all out quicker so she can go on with her day?

ok so my daughter is 1.5 y/o and still nothing, she only says mommy and daddy when she feels like it. my wife and i spend time talking to her but nothing, even her older brother talks to her. if we tell her to do something like to throw her diaper in the trash she will go and do it. but she does not speak she will point out things she wants or will do things her self. is this normal? her brother by this time had a much larger vocabulary.

My 2-year-old frequently asks to "do math" and I don't want to discourage her, but math wasn’t exactly my best subject.

I haven't been able to think of any wee activities age-appropriate for her. any ideas? thanks

We thought he was gagging himself by putting his fingers in his mouth too deep when his pacifier falls out, but last night it was still in. This has been going on for 4 days, all but 1 night.

He has no other symptoms, is not crying, coughing or anything else. No fever, not dehydrated, and acts great the rest of the day.

Help! I'm afraid he will choke.

Hi. My son just turned two. His kisses have always been tiny pecks that last one second or less but here lately he tries to keep his lips there for about 2-4 seconds. My husband recently returned from Iraq and I know he's getting this from watching us kiss. From what I've read on that subject, it's my opinion that it's better for us to be affectionate around him, rather than not be (to a certain degree anyhow- we don't make out in front of him by any means). If he gives someone kisses (his teacher, for example) and they kiss him on the forehead or cheek, he says (in the sweetest tone), "no, on the mouth" and points to his mouth.

Is this something that's normal? I'm guessing it probably is but should I just not worry about it and continue to let him give longer-than-normal kisses (since it's just a peck)? Where do "you" draw the line and how would you explain to him that mommy's and daddy's kiss each other differently?
Thanks!

here are a couple examples 1) my husband bought some peptol bismal for kids because my 3 year old had an upset tummy. I swear it looks just like a bottle of bubbles.
certian cleaners that are nicely colored, look like gatorade or something yummy to drink.
yes I keep these things away from my children but i still dont think these things should bee so appealing to a childs eye.

My three-year-old (38 months) wanted to try my lipstick and I proceeded to tell him that only girls wear lipstick. He then went on to say, "But I'm a girl," a comment I've heard him make once before in a similar situation. So I then tried to persuade him that he was a boy like Daddy and Mommy was a girl that's why I get to use lipstick. He then insisted that he was like Mommy and not Daddy. This may be a premature reaction but he has previously shown interest in my clothing and shoes and likes "pretty things." He still plays with "boys things" and no one or nothing compares to Bob the Builder and Scoop. But I need some second opinions.

Thanks.

My poor little honey is poorly, her temperature is up and she's not eating. She's also very tired, but in between naps needs to be entertained... I've read all her books to her at least twice and played very gentle exploring games but I'm going stir crazy...

She's a year old.
