I have a 7,6 and 4 year old and we started them out at 3 and 4 helping out by making jello, and now we have a sandwich convoy..one adds the mayo, the next one add the meat and baby adds the cheese while mommy slices the sandwich. It is great for counting skills as well because we need to know how much bread for x amount of sandwiches etc...

we make ice pops, decorate cookies, frosting the cake after we have all helped mix and bake it,

kids love mixing, so you can let them help you mix just about anything, or if you take a few minutes to pre prep whatever it is that you are making and place the items in separate dishes, you get let each child have a turn placing the pre measured ingredients, while you or another child mixes it up...

make sure that you keep a watchful eye and practice safety in the kitchen!

Good Cooking!

buy a roll of refrigerator peanut butter cookie dough and let the 4 year olds slice it with a plastic knife and place it on a cookie sheet. Bake for all but 5 minutes, then let them mostly cool.

They can all help unwrap Hershey Kisses and place them in the middle. Then finish baking as usual.

after you've drained the boiled elbow macaroni into a bowl, they can add the cheese and butter to it, for their lunch,
they can form their own hamburger patties for you to cook,
they can fix their own little pizzas on toasted eng. muffins, with sauce, pepperoni or whatever. then you can pop them into the oven to melt the cheese for a minute.
they can wrap hotdogs into croussant pastries, [the rolled pastry comes ready to do this] in the refrigerated section of the market.
