my daughter started speech therapy at 18 months. which is a little early to worry, but her doctor said we may as well give it a try. its good your daughter points to stuff she wants, and the other things. you can always talk with her doc about it, but most of the time its not a worry till they are about 2. my daughter is 3 now, and talking a lot more, but not the best, so she's in preschool that helps with more speech. i can tell you there were days when she was younger that i could have just cried all day, lol, but it gets better and even though i still get frustrated sometimes, she tells us what she wants, and all the other stuff kids do, she just won't answer when we ask what she did at school today. so don't worry too much, and just keep talking to her.

My son is 25 months old and still doesn't talk either, he understands what we say b/c he does what we tell him (sometimes lol) but he won't say mommy, will say daddy for just about everything and uh oh but those are really his only two words, all kids talk at their own time. she may feel like she doesn't need to talk b/c she's got mommy, daddy and big brother talking for her?

I wouldn't worry about her just yet. I have 20 month old identical twins and one talks all the time, she's learning new words every day. The other one would rather observe. She has maybe half the vocab of her sister.

Kids are all different my daughter is nine months and she is all ready talking we can carry on a conversation with her, does your daughter use a pcifer alot of times it will hinder them from talking, just relax and she will talk whenever she is ready it doesn't mean she is slow at learning it just means she's not ready, just wait until she does you won't be able to get her to be quite.

I would not worry to much about it. My son was 2 yrs old before he started talking, then we couldn't shut him up. Remember: you spend the first two years teaching to walk and talk and the next 18 yrs telling them shut up and sit down....LOL

It really isn't anything to worry about at this point. Most children who are not very vocal tend to be a little advanced in their physical development. She will catch up probably around her 2nd birthday.

She's only 1.5. And all kids are different and develop at different rates. Relax.
