My niece (4 yrs old), who is learning disabled, loves to play with the magnets on my fridge, (I have her half the time, my sister the other half, my sister doesn't work with her). My husband and I have been working with her on her colors & shapes for awhile now. Sometimes you wonder if what you are saying is "getting in". Well, she had been in the kitchen for awhile and I went to see what she was doing (I have hundreds of magnets on there, just for her). I was astounded when I turned the corner to see ALL of the magnets were lined up by color and shape, in perfect straight lines, wrapped all around the sides of the fridge. She actually was taking in all that we were teaching her. I was so happy, I cried. Actually, I'm crying now, just thinking of it. I am so proud of her.

Last week, my daughter's principal called me in for a meeting. I thought "what in the world? Ally's never been in trouble." Well, there were all these teachers sitting around, and I was so nervous! Then they told me that due to her testing scores, they would be boosting her up to second grade (she's in first, and youngest in her class) and starting her on third grade work also. She has also been tutoring two other students in her grade, that are behind on thier work. I was amazed! I had no idea that the little girl that runs into the wall while walkng out of her bathroom was so intelligent!

It's not much of a bragging moment, but tonight my 3 yr old babbled excessively about all the cartoons she had watched through the day and all the stuff she did at her "Nana's" house (my grandmother). But what really got me and my folks cracking up was when she shook her little booty and then put a finger to her lip "Ooops, I rip my pants again!" (from watching Spongebob). The way she did it and the look on her face was priceless!

I have LOTS of things to brag about my 18 month old doing:
When she wants a drink, she says "Pop. Yeah. Good Girl."
Singing the entire song "twinkle twinkle little star"
Counts to three (well, she repeats "one, two, three")
She makes her surprised face and asks "What's that?" when the theme song for "SpongeBob SquarePants" plays
She just came out of her room with her new tennis shoes, sat down on the floor and put them both on (they are slip on's). THAT is a new one
Congrats on the potty!! In a couple of months, that will be my new thing for her. . .
(Melissa H should win - that one made me smile. . .)

This all started last night when a friend & her husband brought me a balloon for my birthday (which is today) and we were trying to explain to my 2 1/2 year old son that it was for Mommy's birthday. He ran through the house all evening yelling "Mommy birthday". I told him several times that tomorrow was Mommy's birthday not today. He even thought he could get out of going to bed because it was mommy's birthday.
Well, this morning, he woke up crying because he had fallen out of bed and we were cuddling. He wrapped his arms around my neck, smiled and said "mommy's birthday" It just made me melt. Then tonight he got upset because he thought he had missed the birthday party (Guess Mommies need balloons and hats and games too :).

You are so right! It's a delightful idea.
My almost 3 month old slept 5 hours straight last night!! (I haven't slept in what it seems to be forever lol)
and my 3 1/2 helped me bake and decorate cookies today and the best thing helped me clean up the mess when we finished!

I want to brag about my oldest son because he makes me laugh so much. He is 3 1/2 and has been curious about the moles on my arms. So I explain to him that it's just coloring on mommys skin. Today I was driving home after picking him up at preschool. He was opening up a banana to eat. He screams "EWWWWWWW MOM!!". I said "what's wrong?". I peeked in the rear view mirror and he has this disgusted look on his face. He says "My banana has a mole, just like your arm!". I peeked in the miror again and his banana had a little black speck on it. Haha. I almost had to pull over to the side of the road because I was laughing so hard.

I take my 3-yr-old to Cracker Barrel twice a week with a group from church. Everybody that works there just adores him. One night we had a brand-new waitress who'd never met him before. She asked me how old he was, and then told me he was the best-behaved little boy she'd ever met. She said he was so polite and sweet!
It made my day! That was the first time anyone had commented on his behavior, and I had no idea how wonderful it would make me feel.

Well, I put an adorable dress on my 3-month old daughter and took pictures of it for the in-laws...my mother-in-law bought the dress two months ago, and she's finally able to wear it, so I wanted them to have a picture of her in it.
And she smiled for the camera. TWICE! It was almost as if she knew that she was suppose to. Of course, I ran to the computer and e-mailed the two smiley pictures right away...
