We just started potty-training my daughter (28 months old). What finally got her going was putting her in panties and letting her soil herself about twice. Now she always tells us, and doesn't have any more accidents.

Then she started waking up dry from her naps. We were amazed. Then she started waking up dry after a good nights rest. We were floored. All this happened in about two weeks!

Is this normal?, she's so little, but she's going to the bathroom like a big girl and doing so well! She only bothers us about going potty during the day about ever 3 hours. She might have an accident like once a week, if even that!

Should I have a party?

My daughter did the same thing. My oldest (who is a boy) did not. My daughter has never wet her bed, and only seems to have accidents when she is outside (although lately she has just been dropping her pants outside) and can't get in the door fast enough. I really think it is a girl thing. Be happy! That's the way potty training should be!

Not to commun but normal, people says that males are also hard to potty-train, but my son was using the potty since 18 months, my mom says I was potty trained exactly at age 1, but I believe it depends on how a child feels when they dirty their dipers, I'm the kind of perso who dislike do have even a little stain on my clothes, my son is the same way, so imagin having ur privates dirty is even worst, thats why there are some children who are complete potty trained at an early age because they dislike feeling their privates dirty, there are some who do not really care, and it takes them longer, there are also the ones that wants to immitate grown ups and wants to do every thing like them, therefore, they feel the need of being potty trained to feel like grown ups!......But sure if u wish throw a party! enjoy what ur child has accomplished, it might inspire her too to do thinks right!!!!

Congratualtions you are one of the lucky ones. Keep rewarding her for doing good and she will continue. My daughter potty trained herself at 18 months old, I threw her a little party just to let her know just how proud we were of her. She may have some problems with regression if she goes to daycare or is around some younger kids but rewarding her will make he want to continue. Sounds like you are in the clear no more diapers or pull ups.

Congratulations!! That's great! Sure have a party if you want. No, it's not usually that easy. But sometimes things like that happen. For instance, when teaching my oldest son to ride a bike, we told him ok you're gonna fall and it may hurt but just get up and try again - you'll get it. Well the first time we let go of him, he just took off. He never LEARNED to ride a bike, He just KNEW. Strangest thing! Then when my second son was learning, he was getting so frustrated and wanted to know how his older brother learned. What was I supposed to say? LOL

My step daughter is only 18 months and she alredy is potty trained. As soon as you put the pantys on them they stop going in their pants. They don't want to mess up the panties

little girls are by far the hardest to train, my 3 year old still does not grasp the concept, so for your 28 month old to be done potty training that deserves one hell of a party, and be sure to stree how much of a big girl she is congrads on your acomplishment

I would say it is normal. All kids grow up at different ages. My brother didn't potty train until he was 5. Its all okay! Just whatever you do, don't try to force onto her something that she's not read for.
And, yes, parties are ALWAYS okay!!! :)

Sure go ahead and party away..any small feat is wonderful if you recognize it plus it will boosy her self esteem and enforce that when she does positive things, she will be rewarded...i have parties with my girls all the time it helps the bonding as well
