We are leaving on Thursday on a flight with a connection to Texas from Miami. My 18 month old is now getting very anxy, and loves running around, and I am not sure what I can take or do to have the best behavior from him on these flights. Also, has anyone traveled lately, any restrictions on what I can take for my baby? Is it ok to take a couple jarred foods and some juice for him? Thanks for all your help.

i do, not every day, but frequently. as a child myself my parents didn't take care of my teeth, i had lots of cavities, a root canal as a kid, three in fact, you'd never know it today since i take excellent care of my teeth, but i am extra cautious with my son. i also read in a parenting magazine that of the preschoolers/ kindergarteners starting now something like 50 percent have tooth decay!

My son has been potty trained as far as pee pee for almost a year and a half. He has had only one accident during the day since I started potty training, and has never wet the bed. When it comes to going poop, he refuses to do so. He tells me he will use the potty next time, and then the next thing you know he is hiding and pooping on himself. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing has worked. Help?????????

I have been giving him a banana a day and he does drink at least 16 ounces of juice a day max and that doesnt include milk. I just started giving him pedialyte/gatorade. Is there anything else I should do?

He is the most dependent on "paci" at naptime and bedtime. I am getting concerned that it is making his teeth crooked and I am getting dirty looks if he takes it out in public! How can I break the habit without making him too upset?

My son is Obsessed with "super hero's" any and all. From "Superman" to "Ben 10". It is all he talks about all day and will ask me questions like "guess who i am " , which changes every 2 min. Then he will jump around constantly pretending he is one or other of these "heroes" . Now i know boys like heroes but why cant he like cars and lego like other boys? He doesn't play with any other toys apart from his Hero figurines, and i dont think this is healthy. How can i stop this?

My daughter just turned 2 last month. I have tried to get her to use the potty by taking her in there when I go to the bathroom, before she gets a bath, I have even tried moving her potty in the living room where it is closer. When I ask her if she needs to go pee-pee her reply is NOOOO! Is she just no ready yet? What are the signs when she is ready? My son who is now 6 started at 17months so I was wondering if its ok that she doesnt want to do it yet? The other day I also bought a Dora soft seat she likes it and even puts it on the toilet and says go pee-pee but she wont use it yet.

My daughter Never listens to me when I tell her to come here, or stop. She always runs in the opposite direction. I'm afraid she'll run into the street before I can get to her or fall and get hurt. What can I do to change this without using spanking.

To me, the definition of abuse is cut and dry. Knowingly hurting ANYONE on purpose is abusive. But for many people, children are the ONLY ONES, who don't count in this definition. So for these people, what defines abuse?

1. If a man slaps a women, intending her to do as he told her, is this abuse? 2. What if he doesn't leave marks? What if it is "only once" and he really loves her? Do any of these things change the reality of his actions?

Where can I find super AFFORDABLE cute (not all the floral and butterflies that are EVERYWHERE) kids clothes with either a beach theme (Hawaiian, turtle, flamingos, palm trees), watermelon, zebra, capri sets with cute tank tops, etc. I don't want to pay Gap or Gymboree prices. To me, that's insane especially when they only wear them a handful of times before outgrowing them.

My son has 8 teeth and I have noticed him jamming his hands into his mouth and tugging his ears. He is a great baby, but for the past two weeks he has been so cranky and throwing his food on the floor, screaming, etc. I know babies do this as they get older, but it is out of control. He just go over an ear infection and I will make another appt tomorrow at the Dr office to make sure the infection did not come back since he is tugging his ears and shaking his head often even though he is not running a fever. He does not want to go to sleep. I tried putting him to bed, but he will scream for almost an hour until I pick him up. I am trying very hard not to yell or scream, because he is a baby, but his temper is out of control. I do not know anyone else who has had these problems with their 1 yr old. I feel like the only one. Has anyone ever experienced these types of symptoms with their child during teething? I don't know what else to do.

I want to start potty training my 4 year old tomorrow. I have not been able to potty train him until just recently because he had a cardiac arrest an hour after he was born. It has slowed him down developmentally. But now he is showing the signs like, waking up in the morning dry, interested in the potty.
I need some input on how to potty train him. He is my only child and I have no experience and my Mom seems too busy.

My 11 month old loves to go to her toy box and book shelf and rip stuff out, and smashing them together, kicking them around (not violently! Just messy.) We also sometimes just give her one or two toys to play with at a time, and we read books to her (which she loves).

My question is, should I let her dig through toys and make some messes, or should I structure her playtime ~all the time~ and only let her play with one toy at a time?

We do activities with her, like getting out play dough or playing in water or jello, reading, lots of things... but while I'm busy, I let her choose what to do (like making messes!). Should I be more structured?
