My son's Dr. actually recommended benefiber for my son. My son is 27 months old, and the dosage for him is 1/4 the dosage for an adult. That my be differant for your child though, depending on his weight.

I'm not sure you should give a child benefiber. Check the label first. Try giving him fresh fruits and maybe some raw carrots
and celery.

I use the FiberSure for my almost 3 year old. Plus she takes Milk of Magnesia (2 teaspoons a day). I usually just sprinkle about a teaspoon into the food as I'm cooking. Or I'll mix it into her yogurt or milk. I would suggest starting with 2 teaspoons a day and see if you can get results over the next couple days.

try fresh fruits, whole grains or even better prunes. If you give him oatmeal mix some strained prunes into it. Or mix prune juice into some fruit juice.

With a child as young as 2 I wouldn't want to jump right to something like benefiber.

Just give him fruits (not bananas, they tend to constipate) green vegetables and whole grains. Orowheat makes a low carb bread that has a really good amount of fiber and that works wonders.

Keep him well hydrated. Adding fiber may only bind him more if he doesn't have enough liquid in him. Try prunes, prune juice, apple juice and the "p" foods like pears, pineapple, peaches.

does it say kids can have that? it could cause too much tummy cramping or diahrreah...i would just give him good ol cup of prune juice/apple juice etc..w/out diluting it. try making him drink more water and eat more green veggies in the future if you can.
