My son has 8 teeth and I have noticed him jamming his hands into his mouth and tugging his ears. He is a great baby, but for the past two weeks he has been so cranky and throwing his food on the floor, screaming, etc. I know babies do this as they get older, but it is out of control. He just go over an ear infection and I will make another appt tomorrow at the Dr office to make sure the infection did not come back since he is tugging his ears and shaking his head often even though he is not running a fever. He does not want to go to sleep. I tried putting him to bed, but he will scream for almost an hour until I pick him up. I am trying very hard not to yell or scream, because he is a baby, but his temper is out of control. I do not know anyone else who has had these problems with their 1 yr old. I feel like the only one. Has anyone ever experienced these types of symptoms with their child during teething? I don't know what else to do.

Oh yes...That sounds like he is teething. I have 2 boys myself who are 1 and 2 so I went through it for the last 2 years. Also you might want to take him to his doctor and see if he might have an ear infection. That might be it too.

Yes, my niece had problems with her baby teething too. He is in pain. Be patient with him he is hurting. He needs love not intolerance. The tugging on the ear also sounds like he has an ear infection.
There are also homeopathic remedies you can get to help your baby deal with these problems. The larger supermarkets carry them and also health stores.

If he is tugging on his ears that is generally a sign of an ear infection, but it could be both. Babies can't express their pain and ear infections hurt like crazy. So if he is fussy and tugging on his ear... I'd take him to the doctor to see if he has an infection.

Girl I feel your pain, my son is 19 months old and is doing the exact same thing, it is driving me nuts. More than like he is teething, I know mine is, he used to have a little bit of a gap in the front and it is closing up, so I know his teeth are moving. He wont sleep, and I cant get him to take a nap to save my life and he is a good sleeper. Good luck, try sugar free popsicles, he will make a mess but atleast he wont be a fussing:)

It sounds a lot like teething. Especially if he is paying a lot of attention to his mouth.
