Hey has had the diarrhea for the last 2 days..Yesterday he went 5 times and today so far he has had it 3 times already. He doesnt have a fever or any pain associated. I have been giving him a banana a day and he does drink at least 16 ounces of juice a day max and that doesnt include milk. I just started giving him pedialyte/gatorade. Is there anything else I should do?

For Lewis...If you have any kids and if this just started today...the dr would tell you to monitor his condition and since he has only that with no other conditions I would rather keep an eye out to see if this subsides in the next 24 hours. So before you go jumping to conclusions about people lets think outside the box.

Please note that he has his four front teeths and he is starting to get his back ones coming in. I think that may be the reason as to why he is getting diarrhea.. He is very hydrated and still mobile..overall he is just like a little rug rat but with a little smell now and then and he is giving me wet diapers...in addition to the stink bomb..

First off, skip the juice. It can make the diarrhea worse. If he won't drink anything else, dilute it at least half and half with water. As far as food - anything carbohydrate-loaded. Toast, rice, bananas, applesauce, mashed potatoes, bread, crackers, pretzels. (If it will make someone on the Atkins diet cringe, give it!) =)

Secondly, is he getting any teeth? Kids who are getting molars especially, often have VILE diapers! (As in, it could knock you over from across the room!)

As long as he's still hydrated - has tears when he cries, the inside of his mouth is moist, and he's giving you wet diapers, hang in there. If it lasts for a week or you see mucus or blood in the stool, call the doctor.

Good luck!

My son did the same thing when he was getting teeth I called the doctor immediately just to make sure. Try to keep him drinking liquids and keeop his bottom with desitin or balmex on it so that it doesn't get raw. ALso if he has a cold he could be letting out the cold through his stool if its like mucus. Milk makes it worse your best bet is Pedialyte or gatorade.

First check with your doctor, your son may have a tummy bug. Then see if your son will eat plain white rice, that's very binding. I wouldn't give him any more juice till you talk to the doctor, as it may be causing the diarrhea. My son had bad diarrhea from too much juice. You may need to give him diluted Koolaid instead, the juice may have too much fiber. No dairy either till you talk to the doctor. Good luck!

My daughter had the tummy flu over Christmas. It last about a week.

The doctor told me
24hours clear liquid fluids

after that push as much fluids as you can. Pop cycles, soups, jello.

It will pass. Terrible next days but it will pass.

Since my daughter was sick over Christmas Starting on the 23rd. There was no way I could stop her from eating food. There was so much every day. No matter what you do from eating or not eating it will pass.

But every one who didn't listen to me and ate or drank after my daughter, i was so careful they got sick. So don't drink after him.

WISH YOU LUCK~~

If he is on antibiotics for anything, give him probiotics to keep the flora in his tummy neutral.
