My son is a wonderful boy and a happy and outgoing kid. When he gets frustrated or angry he doesn't deal with it very well. He likes to slam things or sometimes hit me. Everyone gets angry sometimes, it's how we deal with it that is important. What are some strategies of teaching my son to deal with anger in a positive way. I've tried encouraging him to count to 30 and take deep breathes etc. I've tried giving him an angry pillow where he's allowed to vent his frustrations. Nothing seems to help. Positive answers only from people who have experience similar situations. He does not have ADHD or anything like that. Just a phase we're having a hard time overcoming. Thanks

My bf has a 3 yr old boy who we see for 1 month every 2. Every time his son is here he does nothing but cries. We have tried everything we can to get him to stop and be a normal child. He refuses to eat, play with other kids, play with toys, he won't listen to me and he's very sassy. My bf works one week on, one off. The whole time his son is here he only gets to see him 8 of the 30 days. I'm tired of being the "main parent", and he isn't my son. My bf and i are expecting in august and i don't want his son to come home until after the baby is born or if at all. I cannot handle the stress he brings into my life and into his dad and i's relationship. His mother has told him numerous times on the phone to not listen to me and do whatever he wants to. he does this every where we go, i'm tired of it. should my bf give up his parental rights since he never sees his son and when he does the kid refuses to interact with us? His mom says he's fine w/ her and all she wants is the $500 a month cs

I am a 20 year old married muslim girl and recently moved to USA....I dont have any older female relatives like sister, mom , aunts etc to discuss this topic with.. and im the first among my friends to get married..
i am going to ahve a baby soon but im very scared and confused about how i will start potty training my child in USA america , especially if its a boy..( even girl)..
Muslim parents will understand my concern since us muslims use the toilet in a different way , and we also need WATER for cleaning in the toilet..
(As an adult , in the beginning i was shocked to see no " muslim toilets showers" in the toilet for adults .. but i installed a long shower hose attachment from another water line and also kept a " lota " )
Anyway, how do i handle potty /toilet training for my kids? especially keeping in mind they will be going to american non muslim schools (no toilet use water

He stays up as late as he possibley can and when I try to put him to bed he cries.
He won't fall asleep unless I am right next to him in bed.

He refuses to get up and get dressed in the morning
He has the worste possible attitude and it frustrates me to no end and when I drop him off at school I feel terrible about how the day started, I feel guilty for yelling.
He refuses to eat breakfast
Takes his sweet time about getting out the door in the morning making us all late.

My almost 3 1/2 year old daughter has been pee potty trained for almost a year now. Very few accidents, and hardly any night time accidents. She's a pro at it. HOWEVER, she will not poop on the potty. She did once, by accident..but never has again. She goes and gets a pull up and asks me to put it on her so that she can poop. She goes in the bathroom, shuts the door, and poops in the pull up. I tried not buying more pull ups, but she will hold her poop for 5-7 days, and then she is so miserable and sick, I cave in and go and buy more pull ups. HELP !! How can I help her to poop in the potty?

My 3 year old son will use the potty for #1 but not #2. When he needs to go, he asks for a Pull-Up and says he needs to go and hide. I have tried a reward system and much praise, but it does not seem to help. He has not had an issue, to my knowledge, with the potty and I am a stay-at-home parent. He knows WHEN he has to go, but just won't go on the toilet. Thanks for the advice!

She cannot go straight to whole milk, obviously. I have looked into soy milk, but it does not provide the same amount of fat or calories that whole cow's milk does. Since that is the primary reason to give a child whole milk instead of 2% or skim, I'm not sure that soy milk is the answer. I am waiting on a return call from my pediatrician, but would love to hear from any other parent who has been in a similar situation. Thanks!

When my husband left my 3yr old son & I last month we got ourselves a puppy to cheer is both up. We live by a large wooded area & like to walk her a lot after nursery (& work in my case). The trouble is that when my son needs the toilet, Its pretty urgent, causing him to have several accidents. He now refuses to walk the dog with me which upsets us both. I have tried getting him to go before we leave the house, but he is still scared of wetting himself.
I read a similar q. to this, so I am hoping for some tips & advice please.
Thank you so much

he put in a check and when he checked it said he only put in 1 cent. He went in and wells fargo told him not to worry about it and they will credit his account. They credit his account a few days later but the gave him more money then what he put it. He did not catch it because he had a whole lot of money in the bank. NOw this was back in November of 2006. NOw they are asking him to repay this amount that they overpaid him back. This is not his fault right shouldnt it be the banks fualt. I mean he put his check in and the funds where not available for 3 days then they put it in isnt their fualt not his. And now they are telling him three months later. What can we do. This is not right at least this is what I feel. What can we do.

I know this sounds selfish but my almost 2yr old son is driving me crazy. He will not play by himself when I am around. He would rather cry and whine at me instead. Dont get me wrong, I love playing with my son but I need to wash my face in the morning and get dressed. I would also like to put some mascara on....He will watch a cartoon but I dont want that to be my only option. Any suggestions on keeping a 2yr old boy occupied? He has tons of toys but he wont play with them unless we play together...
