My 4 year old son just started Tae Kwon Do class twice a week and already I can see a difference in him. He has never been "bad" by any means, but typical 4 year old attitude problems, and since starting this I already see a lot more respect. Has anyone else had their child in Tae Kwon Do or a similar class? What did you think of it?

I want it to be special. I have toys and videos, but he won't remember any of it. I am just wondering if it is so important that I find something else. Or am I just trying too hard.

i have a2 year old and am 3 1/2 months pregnant with my 2nd. I work from home but wanted to put my son in preschool 2 days/week so he could socialize and so i could have a little break to get work and errands done. Today was his first day, i went with him at 8am, and planned to stay w/him until 10.He was fine, as i knew he would be, playing and checking everything out. the director had told me the day before that they would give him milk with his morning and afternoon snack and juice with lunch. I misunderstood and assumed they provided the drinks, i brought everything else i was supposed to, his crib sheet, blanket, lunch, juice cup etc. but i didnt bring juice or milk, the director told me i needed to bring my own, i told her i didnt realize that and could they provide it for just today and i would bring his tomorrow. She said no, it was against policy and i snapped and said he would not be attending school there. i know my hormones are out of whack but was i totally out of line?

I was thinking of buying my 4 year old a games console to keep him entertained. There's a VTech one for about £50 - is that money well spent or are there better ones out there?

He has always been good about bed time. We have a routine..movie, snack and then bed time between 8:30 - 9:00 with no problem. Lately he doesn't want to go to bed. I don't believe in the "cry it out" method. Max I'll let him cry is 5 mins. So I go get him sit in the livingroom and he calms down immediatly. After an hour or so, he falls asleep and I put him to bed. His day time nap or naps have not changed, his bedroom hasn't changed..nothing. This has been going on for 2 wks. Oh also he keeps pointing and wants to go the pantry..but when I show him snacks he pushes them away, so pretty sure he is not hungry, just using that as an excuse.

Has anyone gone through this and what did you do ???

She will not let me brush them first or after she has already brushed them. My concern is that she is only sucking on the tooth brush and asking for more toothpaste (child's toothpaste) instead of actually brushing her teeth. When she is done she then likes to chew the toothbrush (We buy at least 2 toothbrushes a month for her because she chews them).
Any suggestions on what to do besides physically holding her down to make sure her teeth are brushed properly?

The school year is halfway over and I'm out of ideas. My daughter has no Allergies but hates carrots and has eaten more apples than most orchards put out in a year. She is not guaranteed to be able to use a refridgerater for snack. She can not take any nuts or seeds to school as they are banned this includes things that only have a peanut free sign as most still contain other seeds or nuts.

My 16 month old seems to be showing intrest in the potty. My other 2 were at least 2 before they even became aware of their bodily functions. She walks up to me and says poo poo after she goes but she doesn't want me to change her. When I'm in the bathroom and flush she says bye bye pee pee and waves as it goes down. Should I get her a potty or is she too young? She still hates to be changed and doesn't mind being wet at all.

my daughter is 2 and a half, usually a very well-behaved child, but lately she seems to be doing things specifically to get time-outs, I give her a warning, she does it again, and when I go to put her in time-out, she says "no time out mommy, I sorry, I say sorry!" What do I do? I've still been giving the time outs to be consistent, but is that right? And any advice to stop this testing of me? Thanks

I have a two year old who fears no evil, and has had more injuries that a professional boxer. As I type he has a black eye, and a bruised cheek, the sitter says he ran into a glass table at her house. Two months ago he got two stiches in the middle of his forehead becuse he nose-dived off the back steps. I have three other children and haven't had near the problems I'm having with my lil' Evil Keneival. Short of putting him in a padded room with a helmet, what can I do to keep him whole and safe? ( My house is as childproofed as possible, please understand that this child will fall just walking. He's completely graceless and runs into walls for Christ's sake, I've seriously pondered mental incapacity, or vision problems, he's checked out with the pediatrician and the optometrist, so he's perfectly healthy otherwise.) I do worry for my own mental stability if he keeps it up though!!

My son turns three next month and it seems his terrible twos are getting worse instead of better. He hits, throws things, and throws the most unbelievable temper tantrums I believe I have ever seen. We put him in timeout after warning him that his behavior is unacceptable. But after a hug and apology we are right back to where we started. I have read the symptoms of ADHD in toddlers and he has all of them. But I also know that the terrible twos are rough. I thought three would be better. But I seem to be hearing more nos and seeing more defiance everyday. I'm am my wit's end. I don't know what else I can do. My husband thinks he's ADHD, I don't know what to do. Anyone out there with some suggestions or a similar sitution.

I have bought him a baby doll and pushchair, we spend time around other babies, and we talk about the new baby coming all the time. I have been looking for books to read him on the subject to get him used to the idea, anyone know of a good one? Any other ideas to help? How did your kids deal with new arrivals? How did you cope with jealousy or sibling rivalry?

Have tried ebay but they are mainly sold from people in the USA and have huge postal costs. Any ideas anyone?

We're travelling to Spain in May and have resort transfers in a taxi hence I'd like my son to be in a car seat but without having to lug my huge car seat with us.

This is a totally serious question, so PLEASE only totally serious answers.
My 2 1/2 year old son keeps putting things in his butt. He pulls his pants down, puts toys, his hand, food...everything in his booty crack. This is rather embarrassing, and I don't know how to address this. I tell him "no", but then he does it again.
Also, he walks up to people and puts his finger in their butt. Seriously. I tell him "no, you don't touch people like that" but he still does it.
How do I address this? I know some children have fascinations with the penis...is this similar?
