So after tests and sleeping at hospitals, my son was diagnosed with True Night Terrors. I have all the info and all that but I wanted to know if there was anyone out there that had a child with the same problem, and how you deal with it? It is really kinda scary to hear your child wake up with a loud scream and "possessed looking eyes"....anyone?

I have a 3 yr old daughter that only weights 28 lbs. THere is another girl around 45 lbs constantly hitting, biting, pinching, spitting, slapping, and bullying my child. I have talked to both the mother and the daycare. with no results. It's the only daycar in town and no home child care providers have openings. What are my options as far as the law goes. we are in Texas. My husband and I both have to work!! We have entered my child in taekwondo to help her defend herself but she doesn't want to be mean. I need help.

I have been a stay at home mom since we brought my daughter home from the hospital. She is now 28 months old and active in dance class, Gymboree classes and playgroups during the week. We are considering putting her in a preschool 2 days a week (and dropping Gymboree ofcourse) for half days, no more than 4 hours a day. Then when she turns 3 1/2 move her to 3 days a week and 5 days at the age of 4. We are hoping to prepare her more for Kindergarten by doing this. Also, when we have baby #2 it won't be such a drastic change for her. I was definatley going to put her in a preschool when I had another child to give me one-on-one time with baby. BUT I know you shouldn't start something this drastic right around when baby comes. So, do you or don't you feel that Predchool is necessary? Money aside.

I have a 2 year old little boy that We (my husband & I) can not get to sleep in his own bed. He was very sick as a child, and my husband and I would allow him to sleep with us. We live in a Very long Trailer house..being our first child I just did not feel comfortable allowing him to sleep in his bedroom because we are at one end of the house and his bedroom is at the other end. We now have his matress from his crib down beside our bed, but the only thing is, he never sleeps on his matress and if he does go to sleep and we put him on it, he is usually up by 3 or 4 and in bed with us..
I need some help and maybe a little guidance from someone that has been in the situation and maybe can offer some kind of suggestions.......

What do you do to stay calm when your toddler is pushing all your buttons? How do you keep from spanking them or yelling at them.

I started potty training my son this weekend. The problem is that my daycare requires that they be in pull ups while being potty trained. I feel that the pull ups are a waste of time and are also more expensive than diapers. I feel the pull ups are too much like diapers. He will stay dry for an hour then he will go in his pants. I have been taking him every 5-10 mins. I have told him that he would get a special treat like his favorite candy if he went in the potty but its not working. I have also let him sit in wet underwear but I don't want him to sit in them too long as he could get a rash. The father is not in the picture to help.

Anyone got any ideas on how to calm my son while cleaning out his nose. I use q-tips and wet them for stubborn ones. The little round suction thing from the hosital/store does work very well. Her's the main problem:

1. He's 16 months old, very strong physically and emotionally, he fights me and my wife every time, we try not to loose our temper but its hard sometimes.
2. put his legs between my waist
3. Hold his arms down, but its hard to hold both arms down and clean at the same time
4. Cleaning out his nose is necessary, because if we don't it will block his breathing, I even tell him that, but does not seem to matter.

this is an everyday routine,
Thanks :)

Any other ideas is greatly appreciated

I found 1-2 strands of white hair on my two-year old son. Is this normal? Is he lacking some sort of nutrients?

Our son gets so mad that he holds his breath and passes out. We have talked to his pediatrition about this and she said it's behavioral and he will grow out of it. It's been 2 years now and he is still doing it. We have modified our parenting style to suit his needs without spoiling him and he is still soing this almost everyday. It is driving us crazy.
