I remember when I was a kid, every adult in my life telling me to be patient, but now that I'm older - they are more impatient than Anyone I know!
When I go with my Nan To the drop off something, dry cleaning we'll say- she'll ask how long? when they tell her .. 4 days she'll insist she needs it in 2. even though she won't wear it!
My mom is SO vocal when we wait in line and the person in from of us can't find thier ID- " Ooh. god- why don;t they upen up another line??"
anyone else notice this?

I think you must have an impatient family, I suppose you could call me old (( when I was 15 30 was ancient )) I am 81 , I do my own shopping and I stand in line at the checkout quite patiently taking the opportunity to look around and watch the other people tho I do get a bit annoyed when people wait till the last minute to delve into a huge bag for their money .
I can only remember once asking someone to PLEASE !!!!! get a move on .
I do sometimes get a bit annoyed when the checkout woman meets a friend and takes the opportunity to have a chat while i am waiting .
And i have been known to leave all my shopping and walk out when the shop only has one till working and there is a line half way round the shop .
apart from that ..........I am quite patient .............I think

I must be getting old then because having worked in a dry cleaners I know it doesn't take 4 days for an item to get done, so I wouldn't be willing to wait that long either. If a person can't find their ID then they need to clean out their wallet...I have never had any problems finding mine unless I left it at home, which I never do. It is in the same spot everytime.

By virtue of length of experience, aged person can assess quiet sharply who are doing not in line and they did not fill shy to utter that vocally. This true mix up with some arrogant character, which could be in any age.

I think that as a society, we are all getting more impatient. We can get everything instantly, so why wait? I hear that even the 3 minute egg is available in 1 minute.

Maybe you just have a grumpy family? lol Or do you notice it across the board?
I am 58 and in the situations that you describe I am very undemanding and laid back, but much more cynical and less patient with society and institutions in general.

No, I've always noticed the opposite. Old[er] people are more patient than younger people... Also, why is this question in the Toddler & Preschooler category??

Yeah, its a normal thing.
Life is short, they want to get more done with what
life they have left on the planet.
It is best to just agree with them and everyone
is happy

If you have lived in this world for as long as they have putting up with everyday crap for 70 years, you would probably be impatient too. LOL

It is because they are old and they are afraid that old age might take them before whatever it is they are waiting for will get their.
