My daughter is 5 yrs old. She started school last year and she found this little boy that she became really good friends with. She went away for the summer with my mother to Portugal, when she came back it was like I have a teenager on my hands. All that she talks about is how she has a crush on the same little boy that was in her class last yr, and how she met a little boy on vacation that she also has a crush on. Its to the point that if you mention the name of the little boy that she met on vacation that she pretends to pass out. I was wondering if anyone has gone through this with their daughters, or if this would be concidered normal for her age. I wasn't expecting to deal with this yet. How do i explain to her about boyfriends and such things.

I have 4 littles and am bored. Obviously, that's why I'm on this! Any ideas of entertainment for myself? Something to do at home after the kids have gone to bed.

Has your child ever experienced these? My son had one for the first time last night and we took him to the ER. He's fine now, but that was really frightening. He had the flu shot yesterday and the docs said that it was from the fever from that. I am taking him to his PCP Monday for a check up.
I was just wondering what information people had to offer on this.....

We are pretty relaxed at home. We dont jump on using earthy words (but we do clamp down on swear words), but my 4 year is now using those earthy words at daycare. Yesterday when I picked him up, the day care teacher basically told me off for him using inappropriate words and actions (laughing when he or someone else burps or farts) in daycare. This teacher is quite strict and does NOT have children of her own. How can I teach my son to be himself, without squashing his spirit, and yet be able to sort of behave in public. I am really against being a "conformist".

My son seems to be on a starch diet. I have tried giving him a choice of many different things to eat, but he will say potates when ask what do you want for dinner. I am giving him vitiams, but I am very worried he is not getting enough veggies. Fruit he will eat all kinds. He is very stubbon when I put something else on his plate to try. He will give it back to me or throw it if I will not take it. I have tried telling him he could not get the potates until he tried some veggies or meat (no go) Help please.

I am starting my daughter at playschool on Wednesday. She has just turned 2. I feel she needs to be with kids her own age. She never gets to play with other kids. I have 2 other children but they are 8 & 12 so they aren't here to play with her and they shouldn't anyway. I took her to look around the other day and she loved it. She was sharing with the other kids (which she has never done before). She sat and had snacks with the rest of the kids. And she cried when I took her home. My friend said I shopuldn't put her in yet as she is still a baby. I think she needs to be with kids. What do you think? She is potty trained and is very grown up for her age.

My toddler only wants to be with her dad. I work a lot and he stays at home with the baby. Should I feel guilty? My son and I are close but when I go to hold my daughter she cries.

My son is 20 months old and only says a couple of words. He says "tah" when i give him something and 'hello" when hes pretending to be on the phone. He doesnt say mum & dad but have heard it once a few months ago. He seems to understand what im saying and does what hes told and smart in every other way. Should I see someone. I have a daughter who is very very talkative and speaks extremely well. She will be at school next year, do you think he'll start when she goes to school. (maybe he just cant get a word in)????

My 2 year old daughter got a really cool tricycle for her birthday but it seems like she's not ready for it yet. I push her with it but her feet drag on the floor. She's not interested in pedaling yet. Is she too young? Do they just learn to pedal themselves?

She cannot seem to get a good nights sleep. She has a twin brother and he sleeps right through the night. They have recently decided not to take naps anymore so i thought maybe she would start sleeping through the night now. She screams when she wakes up so I just dont know what is going on, if anyone has a suggestion that would be great!
