I'm reading a book called "Toilet Training in less than a day" by two doctors, Azrin and Foxx. I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever tried this method, and was it a positive experience? My son is almost 2 1/2 and I think he's ready, and any advice on this particular method would be helpful. Thank you!

I know I'm crazy. But I have an 11 year old daughter and no one except a neighbor we've known for years, and grandparents (and maybe an aunt/uncle) have watched her! No daycares, or other people. My son is 1 and I am on my way to getting a high paying job (the only reason I would go back to work from staying at home) b/c it wouldn't be worth it for little pay to pay for daycare.
I'm too scared to hire someone to come into my home, or their home or do daycare (I'd have to find someone I don't know) .

I dont' know if I can do it! Some advice...
I hear too much crud out there.

This evening my daughter told me that a boy at her daycare put his hand down her pants and touched her pee pee. I called her daycare lady already and told her what had happened, she asked the boy and he admitted to what he had done. Now what should I do? Was she traumatized from this? Should I talk to the boy's parents? The daycare giver had already talked to his mom about the situation. But I don't know what I should do. I don't know if I should take her to the doctor? If it was him just being a kid or what?

need a new look right now I have long hair with layers that have grown out. I have to spend a lot of time straighting my hair just to make it look half way decent. I dont have the time for that who does? Does anyone have a haircut that doesnt take much time in the morning to syle and still looks good? I want kind of a wash and wear style, but long enough to still put into a pony tail on "those days". Whenever I get layers they seem to make my hair look boxy and the layers are very blunt looking almost like a shelf if that makes sense. I want to beable to go to Target or the mall without having to straighten my hair or just resort to putting it in a ponytail everytime. HELP :)

My daughter is 20 months old and always sleeps thru the nite. But 2 nights ago, she woke up crying. I tried all the obvious stuff, and nothing calmed her down. And she didnt feel feverish or anything. I finally brought her in bed with us, and she calmed right down and went to sleep. Shes never slept with us since I weaned her at 12 months. I cant imagine why she would have a nightmare. Nothing scary on TV, and no one fighting around her or anything. Is it normal for a toddler to have a bad dream and be scared by it?

I have less than 3 weeks to plan a small party. I haven't the slightest idea of what to do. We just moved, so I would prefer not to do it at my house since there are still boxes everywhere. I thought about doing it at Chuck e Cheese, but is it really worth it for 2 year olds? Any ideas? Trying not to go Getto style.

When is a good time to start to potty train a child who cannot talk yet? My son had tubes put in his ears when he was 1 1/2, and just turned 2. My fiance wants to start to potty train him now, but i think that because of his hearing problems that it will be much more difficult for him to let us know when he has to use the potty. His vocabulary consists of a handful of words, and will be starting to see a speech therapist soon. Has anyone else went through this, and if so, how did you work on potty training with your child?

My grandpa was diagnosed with alzheimer's last year. It began by him just forgetting things like where he put his keys and not being able to give directions very well. My grandmother passed away in June and it got worse then. Now, he tells me the same things over and over and gets confused pretty easily. When he is stressed about anything it is worse. He and I have always been very close and I saw him yesterday for about an hour and he doesn't remember seeing me. It really upset him that he didn't remember. It upset me a little too becuase I can see it progressing so fast. I'm not sure how to handle this. I don't know if I should tell him he's already told me these stories 500 times, or if I should just listen to them again. When he indicated last night that he hadn't seen me in a while...should we have just let it go instead of telling him? We are new to this. If anyone else is in this situation...what do you do?

My 2 1/2 year old is really good, untill we go in public. Everytime we go to the store or someone's house, he starts screaming and wanting everything and when we try to get on to him he'll hit us or kick and scream louder. There isn't much we can do, b/c if you spank them then people will turn you in, stupid. I try to talk to him, but he won't listen. What should I do?

My son slept in his crib until 2 weeks ago, (now I know why I was in no hurry for the toddler bed). Anyhow, he used to fall asleep by 9:30 every night, now he stays in his bed until 11 P.M. when he finally falls asleep for an hour and by midnight he has crawled into bed with me and my husband. We have tried bribes, buying new blankets/pillow, a party for being a 'big" boy and sleeping in his toddler bed etc.....this has gotten really hard. He sleeps all over and kicks us all night. Any ideas would be appreciated. P.S. he is an only child, his bedroom is right across from our room and he'll be 3 next month. He's always slept in his own room since he was 3 months old. thanks.
