My son who is so incredibly stubborn (just like me) is sick and refuses to take his medicine without at least an hour of discussion / arguing over its importance, i really have no idea how i convinced him to take it before his bedtime this evening, but he did willingly. Does anyone have any ideas or techniques that works for your kids to get him or her to take their medicine without so much trouble???? (I have already done putting it in his milk, he still tastes it and wont drink anymore than one or two sips just to make sure it is actually contaminated with his medicine!)

Just a question I have a 13-month-old son that has taken a liking to screaming at the op of his lungs at any time. It is very high and very shrill....and very "nails on the chalkboard" type feeling. I have told him "no" nothing seems to be working...not even ignoring the shrieking.

Just wondering if anyone has had this dilema and if anyone can offer any advice.

Thanks all have a good one--Jammie girl.

I am not saying my son has ADHD, but he sure acts like it! How can I help him with his hyperactivity and impulsive behavior? I love his energetic spirit, but sometimes he just needs to chill out. What should I do? In the past I have resorted to TV time a bit too much and I am trying to get away from that.

You know when your child is around 2 to 5 years old and they say the funniest of things, what can you remember yours saying?

My son was two and a half and my daughter was just a few months old. She was propped up on the settee and he was sat next to her. I had to get something from the kitchen and told my son to put his hand on his sister and watch her carefully.
Within seconds he ran out into the kitchen and screamed 'Mum, Amy is melting!' I totally freaked out, ran into the living room and he showed me the corner of her mouth where a little bit of dribble was coming from!

I'd love to hear all your funny stories.

My ex & I have a 22 mo. old. He's dating a woman (for 5 months) who has 5 kids, 19, 16, 14, 10, 2 1/2. My ex & I get along pretty well, we feel it's what is best for our child. We are partners child rearing. No bad feelings. We discussed introducing girl/boyfriends to our child (& other things) . I'm of the opinion we should wait, he siad we could "cross that bridge when we come to it." Turns out he has crossed that bridge and his girlfriend spends time with him and our child. I'm angry because he lied (again). But what is done is done, I've asked to him to try to be honest and keep me informed. He wants me to meet her, to "ease my mind". Frankly I don't need my mind eased. She introduced him to her kids right away. That's fine if that's her choice as a parent, I'm of another opinion but don't believe either of us are wrong. I trust my ex to take care of our child and keep him safe, so I don't feel like I need to "check her out."
What do you think? Should I meet her?

We have SO MANY grandparents & great-grandparents in our family. They don't want anything from the store, they love hand-made gifts from my girls. I'm stuck--I can't think of anything that would be easy to make and nice enough for a Christmas gift.
Does anyone have any tips/advice? Or can you lead me to a decent website that has good ideas?
Oh, and I have twin girls so I need something for both of them to make.
THANK YOU!!

I have two preschool-age children. At the moment, there is a constant battle in our house to get them to stop saying "poopiehead" "booty" "peepee butt" or any other bodily waste/heinie anatomy words.

WHAT THA HECK????

Is that normal?

BTW, they're two boys, ages 3 and 5.

My two year old is a wonderful little boy but recently has been having bouts with the terrible twos. Sometimes he screams when he gets upset.

I have put my palm over his mouth to muffle the pitch and I say to him no screaming. Is that wrong?

What else can I do? Am I wrong?
