i taught preschool for twenty years...and you have nothing to worry about. there are daycares with cameras in the room that you can access from you computer. look into it. all daycare workers are checked out by the FBI and finger printed. socializing would be good for your child. call the better business bureau to find out which one has the highest rating. check with friends. knowledge is the best power.

Very understandable. I would say try the daycare. Talk to the baby's teacher before you put him out their, and make sure you trust them, watch how they are with the other children too. If you decide to go with daycare, make a few surprise visits. When it isnt nap time and you can take a break from work go out there and peek in the door window, see what your child is doing and how they are doing. And if you ever have any questions or anything make sure you talk to the teacher or the director about it. Good Luck!!

Well i have only let a handful of people watch my kids and for good reason.Until children can talk you are better off with a reputable daycare that has internet access so you can take a peek at your child all day long. Also there really is no substitute for Mom but i wouldnt trust a in home daycare or in home anything too much can happen.

i have put my son in day care, but before i did, i checked out all the ones in my area, and the things i looked for were
- security
- qualifications
- safety
- the centres policies on biting, fires, sleep etc
- the staff to child ratio
- seperate rooms for older children
The director actually let me take my son in to the center to play with the other children and staff to see if he enjoyed it, and also so that i could see how the center operated on a day to day basis.
So I felt really comfortable with my decision, and no longer worry, they ring me a soon as there is a problem or if he falls over. They also do daily communication books which are really handy!

Talk to everyone you know about what day care they use. Visit the center, ask many questions. Check to see if the center has had complaints. There are great centers out there and there are not so great ones. I have experience with both kinds as an employee and a parent. Be sure to check out what kind of prekindergarten program they have.

Wait till he is 3, he will be ready for the independence by then. The high paying job can wait. Take care or your child.
