My almost 12 yo wants to put blonde highlights in her hair, but being a victim of high priced hair myself, I know what a costly commitment this is. I see other girls her age with weaves and highlights, and I feel they are just too young to be changing their color already. Am I out of touch and being too strict? BTW, her current hair color is a beautiful shade of auburn that I have never seen duplicated from a bottle.

You know, the ones you look back on and go "Man, those were the days". What are they specifically about how old do you think you were? As I watch my 2 year old grow it made me think of these tings. I remember...

Grandma taking me to lake at the cemetary to feed the ducks when I was about 4-5.

Playing outside by the AC unit wondering why all the air was blowing OUT instead of in and why is was hot instead of cool when I was about 5-6.

Helping Grandpa pack the truck for a weekend visit to the lake property when I was 4-5.

Good times,,,,,,,so less complicated.

I just want to know if tinned spagetti loops (the ones in a tomato based sauce) are bad/good/ok for my 1 and a half year old daughter? She loves them and i tend to feed them with her meals on a daily basis, is this ok? its not always every day but most days she will have them with one of her meals.
Thanks.

I know this question doesn't really have a "right" answer. I know it just depends on the individuals. So, this is just a hypothetical/opinion question.

If there is a couple that already has two children and they are at in impasse about whether or not to have one more child...

Should they stop at two, knowing that one parent feels like their family is incomplete? The partner loves the children that are there and knows that they could be happy with just the two, but will always wonder about and mourn for the third child that could have been.

Or should they go for one more, knowing that one of the parents isn't 100% on board with it? That partner also loves the two that are there and is a great parent, but doesn't want to disappoint the other parent and knows that they will grow to love a third child just as much as they love the existing two.

What would you decide?

My family don't really pay much attention to my foster daughter, they only really care about the bio kids in the family. For her first birthday, they all ignored her party, and didn't even ring up or bring around a gift! She's been with me since 9 week old, and will most likely stay with me forever, maybe be adopted, but because I wasn't pregnant with her, they don't see her as really my daughter! They don't see why I'm upset! What can I say to them to make them understand?

My 14-year-old daughter is pregnant in the middle of 7th month with twin-girls (after some school guys raped her and she didn't go back to school and we didn't call the police for the boys, because she felt very very ashamed). Now she is being homeschooled. My daughter used to be shorter and slimmer then other kids her age and she still is and now her belly is about 50% of her whole height. It is really difficult for her to move and she cannot walk easily. An hour ago she had a painful contraction (she never had painful contractions before) and the contraction lasted for about 10 seconds.I thought it is just the same as her painless contractions (she has been having painless contractions every day since the 6th month).A few minutes ago another painful contraction came and my daughter started crying because she is very scared from the pain and from (eventually) coming delivery.I don't want to take her to hospital so don't tell me so.I want her deliver at home.Any suggestions about the pain?

If for example your child and his/hers friend are with you on a campingtrip, or even on a day out at the beach or at the the Mall, and they get into trouble. You decide to punish youc child for what he/she has done, would you also punish his/hers friend the same way? Would you contact the friends parents first, or would you just tell them when you returned? I was once spanked by my best friends dad when me and my friend were with them for a weekend at there log-cabin in the mountains, and it was the most humiliating thing I ever experienced as a child(as I can remember anyway)

I think it was dateline they were showing about this little boy who says hes a little girl so the parents let him wear girl clothes they said as a baby he was interested in girl toys, he is around 6 years... I have two 2 kids a daughter who is 6 and a son who is 2 and sometimes he will play withe her toys but we tell him no those are your sisters... I mean little kids all go through that stage but i dont see how a parent can let their child believe they are a different sex... I know i sure as hell wouldnt let my son dress like a girl...Just wondering what you all think of it...If anyone watched it too?

Have you ever been in a situation when you have punished your child for something (with grounding or spanking for ex) and then found out that he/she didn't do it? Would it be wrong to 'loose face' and apologize, or do you think that as a parent you need to always 'stand your ground?

Im a female and was always bought up that men should never hit a women, and a women should never hit a man. I dont think I ever would unless it was a life or death situation for me or my family. My husband and I have the same disagreement all the time, his mother chooses to stay in a physicly abbusive relationship, she has admitted to me that she usually starts the fight and throws the first punch. My husband then gets angry at her partner for putting his hands on her, I know a man could floor me easily, that is why I know i would never pravoke a man, by throwing punches and I would expect that if ive hit him, his gonna do the same back. I know women being hit by a man is frowned apon, but if my mother in law is choosing this life style, am I wrong for not feeling the slightest bit of sympathy for her or her situation. It just seems to me that people think its ok for a women to hit a man but its not ok for a man to hit a women. Please share youre thoughts with me on this matter

ADD my A@#!
If more kids got an old fashoned a#$ beating the world would be a better place instaed of putting a label on everything and giving kids an excuse to act like an a#$.

Now I'm no saying abuse is okay.

But I remember when a kid got in trouble in school a parent asked the kid what did you do. Now it's the teacher's fault or "oaww my kid has add it's not little johnny's fault.

People need to beat some sense into kids these days.

What are your opinions I want feedback.....

Why are you NOT suposed to use your hand when you spank your child? I must say I don't spank very often, but when I do I can't think of anything better and more apropriot to use than my hand. Why use things like paddles, brushed and belts: I want to TEACH my daughter, not BEAT her!

Ok so my wife and I have a 4 month old baby boy. She wants to meet her sister at a happy hour at an outdoor resteraunt tonight at 5pm for two hours. She argues that she will not be drinking although her friends will be along with most everyone else. Since it is outdoors smoking and temperature becomes a factor also-- it should be warm tonight however. I feel this is not appropriate to bring my son. What do you guys think? am I being over protective? Or do I have a does my justifcations hold- The baby has no place at a function designed to get people drunk!

Okay so this is what i would tell the parents of the child im Babysitting-

Hi im Katie, and i am 13 years old. I have babysat ages 4months to 7 years old. I really love kids and would love to play sports with them and be outside. I can feed infants and toddlers easily, i can change diapers and, i can try to make your kid have a fun time while your out. - the end

I have babysat like 3 families kids, one with triplets one with twins and a little one, then the other with twins and an older one. I guess you could say i have good refs. but that would be up to you.

So what do you think would you trust me a 13 year old with your kids, obviously we would meet and get to no each other but with the stuff i told you should i be able to take care of ur child?

yea i no i probably will get some bad answers but you know. that happens

oh yeah i also can be very patient, and i have a 3y/o cousin who i babysit every weekend for two hours

I have an 8 month old baby and am not currently working so I can care for him. I did go back to work part time when he was 3 months old but struggled so badly with childcare (I have no family nearby to care for him and couldn't afford the childcare, plus hated leaving him with someone else) that I gave up 3 months later.

I love being at home with him but I know I won't be able to do it forever, my partner is a low wage earner and we are struggling on just his salary. It would be great to work from home but I don't have any skill that would make that feasible and my house is not suitable for me to be a childminder.

I feel guilty at staying home and not working as it means we struggle for money and can't give him all I'd like to. But then I'd feel guilty if I went to work and left him with someone else all day!!!

Whats your view - is it best for a mother to stay home (even if it means the family purse strings being tight) or work and bring in extra cash?
