You know, the ones you look back on and go "Man, those were the days". What are they specifically about how old do you think you were? As I watch my 2 year old grow it made me think of these tings. I remember...

Grandma taking me to lake at the cemetary to feed the ducks when I was about 4-5.

Playing outside by the AC unit wondering why all the air was blowing OUT instead of in and why is was hot instead of cool when I was about 5-6.

Helping Grandpa pack the truck for a weekend visit to the lake property when I was 4-5.

Good times,,,,,,,so less complicated.

LOVE YOUR QUESTION!!!

My fondest memories are going to the beach inthe hot sun with my family, or going for picnics at the park in Dana Point CA. My Grandparents lived in a small town outside of Santa Barbara and the drive up there was incredible. Horseback riding with my Dad on Sundays. Spending Christmas Eve with all of our friends and family. Playing pretend anything. Sitting at the dinner table every night and having dinner with my family.
Thank You for reminding me that my childhood wasn't so bad. I don't understand why I wanted to grow up so fast.

Great question, Weeder. I love how most all of the answers have nothing to do with spending a lot of money, but of spending time with loved ones. As for me, I loved:
Playing Kick the Can until the bell rang (everyone on our road had a different bell and when it rang, that child had to head home).
Taking the three hour trip with my "step"dad to go get my step brother once a month. That man made me feel so loved and I so enjoyed our special time together.
Running like a crazy person to my grandmother begging for a quarter because I heard the ice cream truck. My grandparents had these hollow stakes at the end of their driveway and each time Grammy would tell me not to put my quarter into the stake. I don't know what my problem was, but each and every time I would just need to know if the quarter would fit and I lost it each time. Grammy never yelled, just shook her head and handed me another quarter. One day I'm going back with a metal detector. There must be $1000 of quarters in that yard!!!!
Thanks for coaxing the memories.

My grandpa has about 30 grandchildren and 13 children. We have a tradition of visitng him over the summer. Imagine 30 kids and 15 adults in one huge house. It use to be so loud no one would agree on what the other wanted to eat so we had to cook about 4 types of dinner. Then all of the kids would run outside trying to catch each other. And giving other wet willy's. One time I remember my aunt sent us down the grocery store to buy some tomatoes. And it was about 9 of us walking together and we met up with some white kids along the road. They stared at us like we were aliens and then the boy said "ya'll some mutts how the heck ya'll related". My cousin Andrew got pissed off and punched the boy and the next thing I knew we were throwing rocks yelling cussing and fighting. After we got home about an hour later there parents came to tell on us but when we told my grandpa what they said he said you guys should have beat the blonde hair out of them. We still go over his house every summer(well I missed it this year ) and we still start a fight with the same old kids. I love my childhood memories and I'm happy you asked me that question it made me homesick and made me look back on the happy times.

Although my family did cool things most of my childhood has been forgotten - I was the oldest of 4 and never felt loved - felt mom only cared about 'the babies'... as such I dont remember the good things.. until I was 12 we went on Vacation to New Zealand.. I really enjoyed that - I had horse riding lessons - that is my fondest memory...

When I was about 9 I had a rough night going to sleep so about 11 pm when my dad got home from work I remember my parents coming to get my sister and I out of bed and asking us if we wanted to go to my uncles or a hotel (both of which were about 45 min away). On the way to my uncles I remember looking out the window of the car and seeing the lights of a carnival.... Also, because my dad worked nights once in a while my parents would wake us up when he got home and we'd go out for pie and then come home to bed....Yes, those were the days and I want so bad to give my kids these experiences to. Good question!

We would go camping at Navajo Lake in Utah every summer and it was so peaceful and beautiful. We would play scrabble (I was to young to spell) and eat the trout my Dad caught when he was fly fishing.

I hope my kids remember the beach that way. We go to NC for a week every summer and have a blast. Love your kids, that is the best memory you can give them.
