no, i don't think so...most allergic reactions are much more severe than an itchy tongue....it could be the dye that irritates her not the medicine headaches, nausea, vomiting, joint pain, these are side effects

Yes that's an allergy. Albeit mild now, that doesn't mean that it cant be severe at some point in the future. She may be allergic to an inactive ingredient in the pills , since Tylenol and Motrin are 2 different medications ( ibuprofen and acetaminophen ). You could try giving her liquid Tylenol or Motrin ( gel caps or by the spoonful to see if that causes the itchy tongue , there is also aleve which is another pain reliever / fever reducer. You might also try store brands as the only difference between generic and name brands are their inactive ingredients.

I would give your doctor a quick call and run it by her though. If you choose to do this little experiment just make sure you have some liquid benadryll on hand in case her reaction is more severe.
If she complains of a tightening in her chest , if the tongue becomes visably swollen, she starts drooling , or complains of shortness of breath give her the benadryll ( if she's conscious and can swallow ) and call 911.

And on a personal note my husbands allergic to melon ( always just an itchy tongue . Not that uncommon)
