Theres a bit of a running joke in my family that Ill be in hospital on my birthday -

When I was pregnant I was really sick and was in hospital then the year after I had, had my baby and she was in hospital (it was my 30th birthday) my husband arranged for me to be able to leave for a few hours and another relative stayed with my baby until I returned - the following year I had a kidney stone and was in hospital on my birthday - this year my family wanted to know what I would be doing and I told them I would be in hospital - they were a little shocked and wanted to know why - I said I didnt know yet but I had been there for the last few birthdays so why break tradition LOL luckily I didnt have to be there this year.

I understand your worried about it and you dont want to be there especially on your birthday but hospital admissions can be so hard to get especially if its for elective surgery - you can choose not to go but you may have to wait months or even a year or more to get another appointment so maybe celebrate your birthday before you go to hospital or when you come out - have some friends come in on your birthday if you will be up to it.
..............................................

Just to answer your question what is an antenatal check its a check you have done when you are pregnant - people havent read your question properly as you have said ob which stands for obstetrician which is a doctor you see when your pregnant they obviously didnt read your edit or look at the fact that you are 13 turning 14 or your user ID is a boys name.

I believe that people are misunderstanding your question. You are meaning to say that you are going to be 14 ON the 28th of August.

If this is not a serious matter and you aren't ill, then it's perfectly fine to reschedule the appt for another day.

Have a happy birthday. :)

it's not a must. You should think about it seriously. if it's an important appointment for your health issues and if it takes time to be able to get one,you should go then. but if there's nothing serious, if its just the usual check-up, you can always try to phone them and ask if the appointment can be postponed to some other day.
hope it helped.

I don't know what your hospital system is like, but we have to take what we can get or go back on the waiting list. Ringing the hospital and asking is the only way you will find out.

Now wait a minute (!) you are 13 yrs old and pregnant and your big concern is that they want to check the health of your baby on your birthday?? In my humble opinion you and your parents and boyfriend have much bigger problems to worry about...you need counselling...and birth control education.

Don't be selfish. If you need a baby checkup, it is more important than the fact that it is YOUR birthday. What about the BABY? Get your priorities straight. When the baby is due, I guarantee ithe choice will not be up to you. Get used to it.

Antenatal check is a well check.

If you would like your date changed call the office and see if you can be rescheduled.

If you can't be rescheduled within a decent time you might just have to suck it up. Sorry.

If you are going to the hospital for an antenatal check then stop being a whinger and go! Who cares if its your birthday! Your baby is the most important thing, not your birthday. You won't be there all day so stop being selfish and plan something quiet for the evening.

If your parents fail to cancel the appt. timely and you don't go, they will still have to pay good money for the doctor's time. You are a minor so unless your parents agree to cancel then yes, you must go.
