I like to add a little Kahlua or Bailey's Irish Cream to my Pepsi or other caffinated soda while I work. I may drink 4 sodas at work. What I usually do is open the can and drink a little, then add some. I do not add any more than that. I usually do this with every pepsi, wild cherry pepsi, coke, etc.

Its extremely rare I drink at home and the only reason I have this stuff at home is so I can bring it to work in a flask. I usually don't even drink when I am out with friends being I enjoy being the designated driver.

I drink at work because I work with developly challenged children. It helps me feel more balanced. I don't think the amount of alcohol I drink, which may equal 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 shots throughout a 10 hour period is a problem. I am not an alcoholic.

My boss knows now & she said if I do not stop drinking at work, she will recommend me for suspension until I go to an alcohol treatment program. I don't think its any of her business. Anyone agree?

Here is my situation. His two kids from a previous marriage do not live with us.He is in very close contact.
We have a very good relationship. So, if kids live with their mother and they only come to visit and we have holidays together does that make me their step mother?

What is your opinion on this?

I notice that some of the people who hold themselves up as parenting experts aren't actually parents themselves. For example, Gina Ford. There are also some people on Yahoo! Answers who regularly give detailed advice on subjects such as parenting and co-sleeping, but aren't actually parents.

Do you have to be a parent to really understand these issues? Or is it possible to gain expertise through working with children alone?

I am 18 years old, and both my parents told me not to get in a car with a friend i know very well who is 18 and has his license for one year now. They told me not to go to a theme park maybe half an hour away from home because they fear that i will crash and die. when i returned home my mom said i was "lucky" to be alive, and she believes i should get my license now (for credit card usage) but not drive till i'm 20-21.

Also she keeps saying that brains aren't fully developed till the age of 25, and that i won't be driving by myself (without parents) till that age or later. Help me knock some sense into my incredibly worrywart parents before i leave for college because i cannot live life like this.

thank you for taking the time to read all this.

OK, I don't have any children. However, I do have a nephew (4) and a god daugther(2)

Sometimes, I take them out with my to the park or the beach. This is seperately, not together (the two haven't met, not related)

Anyway, sometimes I feel funny about having my nephew (he's more social then the 2 year old) interact with other children.

The other day we were at the beach. There was a blanket next to use w/ a little boy about 1 or 2 years older. It made me nervous. I know kids are relatively harmless; however, I get nervous b/c I don't know this kids background.

What kind of family is he from? He is going to say something inapproipriate to my nephew (something little kids can't/should not hear) You never know right. Kids do say the darnest things.

I'm talking about, kids coming up to him and saying, " My dad touches me on the pee-pee" or " I watch mom and dad naked w/ their clothes off' (I work as a teacher, so I've had training in child abuse. Abused

no rude comments please. anyways, dont ask how i know her... but i always hear her daughter crying at night. the little girl sleeps about 2 hours a night. i always hear her shouting "get off of me"... "i hate you mom"... and just yesturday i heard her mom repeat over and over "did you see my friends d*ck". they live in a garage... and the mom does "business" right in fromt of her daughter. by the way, she also uses her daughter to get welfare benefits is there a way to report her anonymously? yall have to understand that im only 13 my parents arent the type that like to get involved. they would kill me if they found out that i was meddling in other ppl's business. well if i do report her... wat will happen? will ppl know that i was the one who reported it?

My sister-in-law had a baby 8 months after I did, so I shared with her some of my baby items. Now our boys have outgrown some of the things. She's not planning to have more children, but I am. Is it rude to ask for the baby items back before she sells them at her garage sale this weekend? What should I say?

I want my children close together in age (about 10-13 months) because it is what works best for my family right now! It is something that I definitely want, my question to other mothers who have done it is...how did it take a toll on your body. Were the emotions worse, the recovery worse, etc. please let me knwo what your body and mind went through from back to back pregnancies (I don't need any info on how tough it will be to raise two children close in age). Thanks!!

I have a 2 year old, and she has always been babysat by family, never friends. I have good friends who would be willing to help me out from time to time if need be, but I'm not sure how much is an appropriate amount to pay them? Should it be per hour? Or just a flat fee for the day? I would only utilize their help for 2-6 hours at most. Also, do you pay more if they have kids of their own to watch because that just means a lot more work on their part?

I have never paid my family members to watch her as they had always offered to do it for free, so I don't have a point of reference. I'd appreciate to hear what other people think is reasonable!

If this man walk-out..what will be my daugther's legal rights for the financials support from the father?

2007-08-20 03:17:09 · 13 answers · asked by august2007 1

My girlfriend, her mom, and I were debating whether this is true or not.

My girlfriend's mom said "Mothers these days don't care for their children much. They have no love for them. It's because there are so many painless births nowadays."

By painless births she was refering to the anaesthetic pregnancy shot given during labor. Her theory was that because labor nowadays are painless, there is less motherly love towards children ... which sounds ABSOLUELY illogical to me. My girlfriend sort of agrees with her mom. I don't agree with any of them. It's just illogical.

What do you think?

I have a two and a half year old daughter (3 in December). The man she calls daddy (and who has brought her up since she was one) is not actualy her real father. My daughter has no contact with her real dad (through his choice) and has no idea who he actually is.
I'm really not sure when or even if i should ever tell her that her dad is not her real father. and how i should go about doing this?
please help, any info would be great from people who have been in a similar situation on know anything about this subject.

Thank you in advance!

ok so i'm asking this as a certain person (you might no who) keeps rambling on here how children should be made to do the house work ie washingironing sewing vacin ect - so that they have respect! i personally dont think that by mking them do lots of jobs round the house makes them have total respect! i belive that children should help out like washing up or putting dishes away and cleaning toys up after themselves but i dont agree with 10year old doing ironing! when they leave home they have to do all that so should'nt we let them be children as they grow up fast enough as it is! when i was younger my job was to do the dishes after tea keep my bedroom tidy and walk the dog! i now have my own home i respect it and keep it lovely and clean and tidy! - my best friend from a very young age had to do EVERYTHING around the house - now she has her own house its a tip you cant find anything - she says its because she had to do it all as a child she doesnt want to do it now!!
so what do you
