To make sure you do well in school so that you can get into college and have a career.

I'm 28, with a 2 year old, and I understand so much more now that I'm a mom. My daughter tried to run out in the middle of the street the other day, and I had to run and stop her. She cried and screamed and was so upset. probably thought I was trying to ruin her fun, but obviously I was trying to save her from getting hit by a car. This sort of thing happens through a child and teens life. They think parents are trying to spoil their fun, when they are actually just trying to help them out, since they can see what the outcome of certain choices are. Trust me, when you become a parent you will understand and wish you could go back and listen to your parents. I thought mine were so mean, but my eyes have been opened as an adult.

Because they see the "Big Picture" and want you to be successful in life. You won't always be a child, and you need to start preparing for your future. The way to do that is to study. Education is one thing that can never be taken away from you. Getting good grades can be very competitive, and you won't even get into college if your grades aren't good enough. If you don't graduate from college, you are limiting the number of jobs you will be qualified for. Many employers won't even talk to you if you don't have a diploma. It can make quite a difference in $$$ over a lifetime. Your choice. What kind of a lifestyle do you really want? Mom and Dad won't be there for you forever. One day you will have to be an adult and stand alone.

D) None of the above.

All parents strive for their children to have a better life than they have. That all starts with education. The more you study and the better you do in school, the further you can go in life.

First of all, ALL parents don't do that. As a former teacher, I wish they did. Parents pressure their kids to study so they can have good, well paying careers and good, rewarding lives after they are out on their own.

Most parents want their children to be successful. Some parents don't even care. You are fortunate to have parents who care.
My (ex)wife and I do not want our daughter to make the same mistakes that we made. She is going to have to be very creative in order to think up some original mistakes for herself.
Your parents want you to have a happy and prosperous life.
Is that so dreadful?

my parents dont.
they trust me. try showing your parents that you are trustworthy and responsible. I think its important your parents encourage you to study, otherwise, youd be stuck w/ the grammer you have now.
Beleive it or not, you have more growing up to do. You know how i can tell??? Because you are not mature enough to realize that "hey you know what, my parents only want me to be educated which will in turn make things easier for me later on. I dont know everything, nor do i know all the things i should."

the generation that comes before us (our parents) always have a harder life than we do. and when we have kids, they will have an easier life than we have/had. because of this, our parents want us to be successful and smart.
