Contact a lawyer before the baby comes and get this all arranged legally. This way, if he tries to stiff the baby later, his wages will be garnished.

if he already stated that he KNOWS he's the father and will be on the birth certificate...he is and always will be financially responsible for that child. if they do not get married (which I recommend they dont...getting pregnant is not a good enough reason) then all that has to be done is filing a case thru the attorney general of whatever state u live. there will be a child support case opened and either the wages will be garnished or he will make payments but it all goes thru the attorney general...the attorney general pays u, "dad" pays attorney general. if he is set up to make payments (ie, no job, etc) and doesnt make them, he will begin to have priviledges removed...license and whatnot...possible jail time.

The fathers name will still be on the child's birth certificate. If the father walks out on her she can go to the child support enforcement Center and file a claim for child support and she will have to give them every piece of last known address along with his social security number so they can track him down and support his child. just make sure she has the number. He can run but he can't hide... keep that in mind.

What state are you in??

In a marriage life both, the woman and the man should be ready: emotionally, financialy, spiritually, physically and even from being a future parents. But in your case if your daughter is not ready yet to face marriage life then let it be. Jus let her realize things by her own action and just don't ever leave her specially now that she needs you most.

Your daughter can get a DNA test done and prove he is the father and take him to court for child support.

if he does leave she'll need to wait until after the baby is born then she can have a paternity test, if it is his then she can get child support. It is never a good idea for a couple to get married just because the girl is pregnant, they need to get married only if they are both ready to commit for life to it

He will have to pay child support if she goes to court and petitions for it. If he wasn't ready to get married he shouldn't have been having unprotected sex, because having a child is much more of a commitment.

Even if he stays she should apply for child support have everything on record legally.
Is his hesitation because he doubts its his child? He may have a reason not to get married.

every child born must have a fathers name on the birth certificate and child support would be automatically taken from his paycheck and given to her. but as long as he is paying child support he will be entitled to visitation right unless he is neglecting or abusive and then your daughter can sue for full custody.
