How come spanking your children is considered abuse? Does anyone think that "time outs" really work? How come parents are teaching children less and less manners?

I'm asking in general, from your expirience, do men or women make a better parent?

I was out shopping earlier today and in the supermarket was a woman with her three children, one in the trolley and two misbehaving behind her as she tried to do her shopping, they were screaming and being quite naughty and there i was with my one child wondering how on earth she does it? i will admit i find having one child hard and my mum had 5 children all under 7 years old!
also some of these mums hold down a job,
All you mums of more than one child i applaud you!
And any full time dads out there i applaud you too!

Like I wrote her an e-mail and she won't write back. I know she checks her e-mail everyday, because she told me, it's been about 6 days. She got in a argument with my husband over the phone and he was just upset, that he was digging with a backhoe and nobody knew there was phone lines where they were digging. My husband didn't even want to go dig, but she insisted of it. so now he is upset over this and I believe she is too. Why take it out of me and our two children?

I'm 19.I have two 4-year-old daughters(twins).I'm working and the 3 of us live alone so I usually have to leave them home alone(there is not appropriate kindergarten nearby).I wonder why all of you think it's unsafe. The kids are at home, the place which they and their children will probably own after my death. If at home is not safe, where is?And I know you probably don't lock your doors and think that anyone can only open the door ad get inside.I have a lock on the door and the two girls know how to work with it.They follow simple rules as "don't let strangers enter the house" ot "don't play with the electric appliances".All of you ask "What if there was a fire?"Well, people, fire does not become from nowhere.Something causes it.And the children know what and avoid it.And I repeat, they have keys and if there is a fire, they can get out.By the way if there is a fire,if my children can't go out, would I can?

My cousin (11 years old and male) wanted to see if he could set a record. He wants to see if he could set the record of having your feet tickled for the longest time. I told him he can't, because of the fact that someone who is not ticklish could say they are and last forever having their feet tickled. He refuses to admit he is wrong, but I do give it to him, he has really ticklish feet and can last a while. I can't even touch his socked feet without him giggling. He had his sister tickle his feet (with him wrapped in a blanket with his socked feet sticking out of one end) for 5 minutes and 32 seconds and he was in complete hysterics, his eyes were watering. I just want to know if the public can tell me how long their kids, cousins, or brothers can last having their feet tickled and how ticklish they are. Just to see where my cousin is at (Even though I still think its a pointless record)

I personally wanted to recruit some student to take care age from 7 to 12. I wonder will parent like you will consider this choice? The good point is the number of children will be small and attendtion will be well given. I would run just like other centre is doing only that I run it in my house. Please comment and give me your view. Thank you.

I don't know why but I've noticed that I'm the only person who lives by a routine or rhythm in my life and like to keep it that way.

I guess I just don't understand how people work without one and would like to know.

Is it that people are against routine or just they don't choose routine for themselves?

I'm just curious.

Tree days ago a girl kicked me in the balls for fun in school; she and her girlfriends laughed at me for a long time, filmed me with the phones, then walked away and just left me there on the floor like a dog. I felt so violated and humiliated! It was very embarrassing for me to tell my Mother, but I did, and she said I should get used to it because probably it will not be the last time!!! She was actually smiling!!! I was going to tell her it still hurts, but after that I just lost my words. What do you think about this? Why are girls like that???

I need some advice on how to deal with my 6 yr old son. He simply cannot stay still or concentrate. He's good in math and reads fluently, but he does'nt seem to take in advice and i feel , he's a little immature for his age and is very irresponsible- doesn't want to do his own things or take things seriously. He is very playful and noisy at home. It seems like all the other kids in his class are a lot more responsible. How do i deal with him? pls give me some suggestions. Thank you.

why is it not safe for a child to sit in the middle of the back seat? I always thought it was safer , like if someone runs into the side of your car he/she would be hurt I always had my son's carseat in the middle thinking i was helping him. now someone said the middle is not safe..ok but what if if someone ran into the back of the car his carseat would not run into the front seat it would just go in the middle of the two front seats right? so what is safer the middle or the side?
