My ex-fiance and I have a 3yr old daughter together. We broke up after she turned 1 because he cheated on me. For the past 2 yrs I have been battling with him to see her. Some times he gets her, then I wont see him for 4-5 months at a time. The bad part is that he live 5min from me. He married the gurl who he cheated on me with and she influences his decisions when it comes to our child. He claims hat its because of me, but I know of a fact thats BS. I've even heard her yelling curse words in the background whe Im on the phone with him. How can I get him to take care of my daughter effectively?? This is very stressfull and although he pays child support, thats still not enough. Please help me.

My wife and I are planning to conceive our first child soon.

What do you think about the names we picked out? We wanted common names, and not names that the child would get picked on for.

Girl: Olivia Grace (Not named after anyone, we don't like any of our family members' names.)

Boy: Alexander Thomas (Thomas was picked because it is my name, my father's name and my grandfather's name)

Do you like them?

What is your child's name?

Most of my friends (in their mid to late 20's) have children that were unplanned.

The unplanned children were their first children. All of them planned their second children.

They joke that I am the only one who got married first and how that is so rare now.

My wife and I are planning our first child after being together for 6 years.

Things don't always go according to plan, but it was important for me to have a stable home before having a child.

Do you think children should be planned? Do you think parents should marry first and then plan children?

One too many times I have read questions on here from mothers who use drugs for whatever reason.
I have a 4 year old son and another on the way... Trust me when I say that I was NO angel before I had my first. I drank, did drugs, stayed out all night, etc... But when I made the choice to give birth and be responsible for someone else's life I gave that all up. Isn't the risk just to high? The risk that the drugs you are doing could kill you? That you could be arrested and go to jail? Even if only for a night, isn't that unfair for a child? How would I teach my sons morals and to make good decisions if I don't make good decisions for myself?
I just don't see how anyone can tolerate or justify this kind of behavior... It is time to grow up!

What are your thoughts?

My wife and I haven't had a child yet, but we are planning to conceive ASAP.

If she gets pregnant now, then our first child will be born when I am 27 and she is 24.

How old were you when you had your first child?

Do you wish you were younger or older when you had your first child?

He has maybe seen her 30 times in 9 years and maybe has called about 50 times. He doesn't even remember her bdays and holidays. He will call her and promise a get together but never follows through, it's destroying her and I am worried about her. I would like to see if by law his rights could be terminated. Is this possible?

I have a baby daughter, I am 25 my hubby is 29. I am an attoney who makes good money to support a family plus we have a lot saved, my husband wants to stay home and take care of our 3 month old daughter. He has his degree in interior design, so he is redoing our new house, and is doing a lot of handywork around as well and always cooks dinner for me because I work long hours. He has already made it at at his young age at buying and selling in international real estate. My husband gets bashed people in our community for wanting to stay at home with our three month old, and I get bashed for not wanting to stay home myself. He is a very good father, and a very sweet man. Why dosn't a man who wants to stay at home, and spend his time whole taking care of a baby get any respect? I think this is totally sad.

My worst accident was last night, I was vacuuming and my ten month old daughter loves to chase the vaccum. I always look out before pulling the vacuum back, but last night I didn't. I brought the vacuum back and ended up smacking my daughter right in the face with it. At first I thought it as just a minor bump, then I saw the blood. The vacuum had cut her cut her lip, nose, and right below her eyebrow line. She freaked for a few minutes then was fine. But I was not. I felt horrible for not looking. Anyone else care to share their accidents with your kids?

My wife stays home and puts the family first. She could have been very successful at her career and she chose us FIRST. I have been able to rise higher in MY career with her taking care of family stuff. We started out slow with only one income, but it has paid off BIG now. We sacrificed in the beginning because we knew FAMILY should come first - not stuff.
