our first grandchild and we hardly see her. daughter in law is
with mom everyday all day and mother in law gets a time limit to
see baby. when we get there she is either breast feeding or putting
baby to sleep. we always got along until she had a baby. if she
needs something she wont let me help her only her mother. if my
son says call her and see if you can go over there she does not
answer the phone or the door. one day she wanted a sandwich
and asked my son to stop working and bring it to her and my son
could not go so he asked me and i said i would but she told him
no he had to bring it. she told me she was just out of the shower
and had to feed the baby. how come she couldnt let me in for a
minute. we have never had any problems before them. i tell her all the time if you need anything or
want anything call me if i call there she does not
pick up the phone she used to. does breatfeeding make you crazy.
she also does not clean or cook anymore. my son does everything.

My little boy is 1 1/2 & uses a pacifier at night time only for sleeping. Sometimes he just holds it in his hand. He does not use or carry around one in the daytime "AT ALL". My friends & family say this is still to old to be using one at all - what is the harm?? He is bottle broke so no problems there.

My husband is coming home from Iraq in two months, and my son hasn't really seen him since he was 7 months. They see each other on webcam and talk on the phone/mic alot, and since he left from leave (feb) my son has taken it really hard. He won't sleep in his own bed anymore, he's extremely clingy, he's sleep walking, and recently he has been throwing fits for no reason.. He fights going to sleep, and he whines alot. He is now 18 months and I know it's going to be big adjustment when daddy comes back home, but I still have a little over two months to go and I am at wits end. I don't know anyone that can watch him and he makes himself sick if he is away from me for more than 30min. I need to put in more of a structure and discipline for him and get him to stop these fits and to sleep in his own bed.. but I am unsure of how to go about this, this past year has been VERY stressful someone please help! Any tips on getting him to his own bed, stopping these fits, everything and anything!!!

Kids these days are horrible! People don't make them do chores, respect their elders, or any of that stuff. They let their kids sit around, watch TV, eat in the living room, make messes, back talk, whine, slam doors, jump on the furniture, run in the house, say bad words, write on the walls, and eventually fight, drink, smoke, do drugs, have sex... I mean what the heck is going on!?! My folks used switches, belts, wooden spoons, fly swats, whatever it took to get their message across (I'm a better person today because of it-I'm thankful). People today are lazy. It's easier for them to go with the flow than to take a stand. Well, this is why our girls are getting knocked up and our boys are ending up in jail. Stop the madness and start early. Make your children mind. Smack them when they sass you. Whoop their tails when you tell them to do something and they say "no" and do it anyway. People do not like your kids because you let them do as they please. Love 'm, make 'm mind.

Two generations ago this country was built on a solid foundation of people. Generation Xer's have turned out to be real failures in raising their kids. The "Who cares attitude" has replaced right and wrong. This will continue to drag our country down until it is as corrupt as a Germany or France.

When I gave my illegitimate son "the talk" several years ago I told him that the reason why people moan during sex is because it is so painfull, given that the Human vagina has 6 rows of teeth. He learned recently in high school Biology that this is not the case...and now he no longer trusts me and says he hates me.... What should I do? Can I mend our relationship?

This question is for mothers who waited to have children till they were in their late 20's, 30's and 40's.

Do you now wish you started earlier because you couldn't have as many children, or your pregnancy was more difficult?

Were you glad you waited or wish things had worked out so you could have had your children earlier than you did?

Why or why not?

Got divorced and moved to a better place for my kids. Father agreed to the move, but now regrets it. He was abusive and we argued all of the time. Kids are happy, Mom is happy, Father makes me feel guilty and yells whenever we speak.

My daughter will be 4 in October. I have been trying for the past 2 years to get her potty trained, but nothing seems to work. I have bought potty's, training pants, "big girl" underwear, I have bribed her with candy, she knows when she has to go, but she chooses not to. I have also resorted to putting her in timeout and taking away snacks now that she knows, but NOTHING I have tried seems to work. Any ideas??

I am so po right know i am the loving mother of a 5 and 4 year old. I went to walmart to do my shopping and I found my best friends 6 year old alone in the toy department. I feel outraged that she is so nieve to think o nothing can happen to my children because it can and i fear some day it will. I have had this happen before so i went to find her and she was with her mom. I went off I said look what i found. I have no idea where your other kid is hes 11. But they could have been kidnapped. She seems to think walmart is a babysitter. and her mother feels the same way. I think she is so dumb. Kids get kidnapped all the time but she says o my kids no about strangers. What is your alls opinion. Is walmart a babysitter?Would you leave your six year old alone in a store. o she says her 11 year old was watchin her. I am one made kansas mother. I hope someone else is on my side.i will never leave my kids unsupervised in a store.

My son came home from his dads after the summer visit with a horrible "highlight" job on his hair. There was a blond circle around his head. I asked who did it and he said that his dads live-in girlfriend did it. My ex is not a very involved father anyways. He only sees our son about 4-5 times a year and only calls about the same amount, and even when he gets our son, he leaves him with the girlfriend, his mother, or some other family member. So I doubt he even was involved in this "highlighting disaster". As my sons primary caregiver, shouldn't I have been asked if this was okay to do before it was done? Just for the sake of avoiding a conflict? I saw a similar case on 'Judge Judy' about a stepmom piercing her stepdaughters ears over a visitation, without even discusing it with the mom, who the child lived with. Judge Judy said that just to avoid starting a fight with the mom, the dad should have at least discused it with her first. What do you think?

Why is it that people like to yell and cuse at people on the interstate if they arent going over the speed limit. I am (or try to be) a safe driver. I go the speed limit, and not over it. I get people mouthing at me through their windows and flipping me off. Some have kids in the car and are driving way over the speed limit. Anyone else have to deal with this, or anyone out there who is one of those flipping people off, and why do you act that way?
