I was told that giving a child with ADHD a cup of coffee in the am will help level out the hyperactivity during the day.. that caffeine will have a reverse effect.. what's the bad side to this? Will having a cup of coffee hurt him in any way?

I'm 15.My father died 7 years ago. Then my mother married a man called Jim(he is my step-father).Two years ago my mom died in a car accident.Since then my sisters(Regina, age 11 and Adeline, age 8) and I live with Jim.He is definitely NOT a good father. He leaves us alone at home every day(when going to work). But I take the care of Regina and Adeline, that's not a problem.Anyway the real problem - A few weeks ago Regina told me(she looked scared) that Jim has come in her room at night and woken her up.Then he took out his dick and made her suck it.Unfortunately we don't have any other relatives we could go to live with or even tell about that. When I heard that I took Regina and Adeline in my room and since then we sleep in one room.Yesterday I was at a party in my friend's house and came back late. They all were quiet.Today Regina and Adeline told me that Jim has raped Adeline.I don't know who can help us but we have to go somewhere AWAY from Jim!

I am a parent.

I cannot understand the fascination with "dressing up" very young girls to make them look older. Then entering said "girls" into a contest against other "young girls".

These beauty pageants are not the same thing as a "beautiful baby" contest.

Surely these pageants must be a Mecca for paedophiles.

I would not let a child of mine anywhere near such activity.Would you?

I have a friend whose child was adopted by the grandmother and im worried about the child. He is 8 almost 9 and still sleeps in the bed with his grandmother. They still take an occasional bath together (she is pushing 70). he is slightly affectionate and has a real bad temper. He is always butting into adult conversations, running the streets at odd hours, can be gone all day and part of the night, and it seems the dont care. They have him in couseling, he goes twice a month. but he is very rude and sassy to the grandparents and is allowed to get away with everything. is there anything i can do about this? or is this even my business? My friend calls me crying when she has been to visit because the grandparents has told him horrible things about her that are not true. and he calls her names and cusses her out and they do nothing.

Do you like it? We're looking into options for our 9 year old as he ventures further & further from home alone. Any other ides that won't cost an arm & a leg?! Not interested in traditional cell phones where he can talk it up.

I am trying to make a difference in this world. I am trying to make it the world it used to be. Where kids would go out and play and not be watched for the whole day, and come home not pregnant, not raped, and not kidnapped. Has anyone ever thought of that? Does anyone remember when you could do those things? When you could ride your bike out of the neighborhood and not think twice about it. But now you have to. And why is that? Because of those pedofiles and rapists and kidnappers! And kids today cannot be kids. They can't run free and enjoy their childhood. They spend their childhood worrying if they are going to get hurt today. Does anybody agree with me on that? And now here is my question, what can we do about it? What can we do to let our kids have the same oppurtunities we did? And when you think about it, you need a lot more people than one to do it. So please, just say yes if you are going to do this with me. Just say yes, and give me your e-mail. Then we can act against this.

There are a lot of little girls wearing skimpy or suggestive clothing (bikinis, strappy sandals, short skirts, hot-pants, tube tops etc). Is this ok as they are kids, or a bad thing for society?

How do you/would you dress your kids?

Since they dont let you respond to your own questions, I thought I'd post another one.

Yes, I live in Vegas, but that's against my own will. I hate this place. I hate partying, drinking, clubs, bars. My boyfriend is the same way. His dad was an alcoholic and he despises him.

I have a job, it does offer maternity leave, as some of my coworkers have left on it. However I do NOT plan to stay at this job for very much longer. My boyfriend also works and is getting paid quite a bit. He works with computer/game design, and if you look at the statistics they get paid A LOT. He won't flop out either, he's VERY good at it, top of DeVry right now. And me being 18, I make a lot.

I don't do much outside work, so "taking up my time" won't do much lol. I have PLENTY of time for a baby. We don't live together YET, we are looking at apartments, and we think we might have found one. It's made for younger people, only $450 a month. And it's not some run-down POS either.

Just because I was born with a uterus and a set of ovaries, doesnt mean I should have kids! Why is society set on everyone having kids!? I pay enough taxes for welfare families who are having them. And teens. And illegal immigants. And drug users. There are enough kids being born without my help. Some people think its beautiful, I think its not worth it.

I'm currently 18 almost 19, and deeply in love with my boyfriend who's 21. I've been with him for 2 years, and see no end either. I know what love is, so don't tell me I'm too young. I find myself much more mature than most people older than me. Recently, I've been thinking about having a baby. I see people with infants, and I feel so jealous. I would love to take care and raise another life. I think a baby is such a precious thing, and raising it as my son/daughter would be a life changing event. My parents are pretty protective of me, especially my dad. He doesn't me want to have a child well into my 30's =P. But I can honestly say, that I personally think I can take care of something as special as another person.

I base most of my actions in the eyes of the public. If I'll get shunned for something I do, then of course I won't do it. I need your HONEST opinions.

My 4 year old is totally hyperactive.. besides medication ( anyone suggestion medication go elsewhere) what can I try to do to keep him calm some of the time? We believe he's ADHD, but undiagnosed.. which doesn't matter because we'd refuse to medicate.
