That's a great question for a 9 year old to ask! To me the best thing about being a grown-up is being able to do what you want to. However, the catch is, your conscience tells you to do what you know is right, so you don't do as many wild and crazy things as you would expect! Grown-ups end up going to work (which they don't always enjoy), paying their bills and taxes (which they certainly don't enjoy!), and doing lots of other things that aren't fun but have to be done (like mowing the lawn and cleaning the house).

On the other hand, many grown-ups have jobs they love, and they get to marry really great people and have wonderful children. So being grown-up is really neat!

You can go for a poo whilst reading the paper smoking a cigarette and eating a sausage, egg and bacon butty all at the same time with the door open and you can be a builder. But seriously make the most of your youth as it represents on average about 25% of your life, and when you reach grownuphood you get responsibility and other such stuff.I guarantee you will miss your mum making you hold her hand when you cross the road and getting a spit wash to get the food from round your mouth.Don't worry about grownuphood as it has its plus's like being able to drink 10-12 pints,Donner meat & chips and then chuck your ring in an alley(not recomended if your on the pull).Good luck

There is nothing to great about being a grown-up! I am only 21 so I don't have that much experience, but I can tell you that I wish I still had my childhood years to re-live. Stay a child as long as possible enjoy your childhood because once you become an adult there is no turning back! It is a hard world and the best part of it is being a child and enjoy no worries!

The best thing about being a grown-up is that you have some degree of independence you don't have as a child.

Also, you have generally acquired knowledge a child doesn't have. You have the opportunity to have and raise children of your own. (I have enjoyed my children considerably.)

Beyond that there are a lot of good things about being a child, and--at 9 years of age--you don't have that much time left to enjoy them. Take time to enjoy the friendships and innocence of childhood. Smell the roses. Take time to play games and be a kid. Ten years from now you might very well wish you could be 9 again.

Freedom to choose (to an extent). After all we aren't entirely free but have responsibility to earn a living so we can eat, to look after children and dependents, and we must live within society's rules. But basically the best thing about being an adult is the freedom to be who we are, what we are and how we live our life. Before that as a child or teen we are directed by parents or guardians

the best thing of being a grown-up is that you can finally own and govern yourself (of course, with help and alot of guidance from your mom and dad). You may finally say that: "I am finally a person" because of your personal accomplishments and small achieved dreams. Also, you can be more exposed to the world in a sense that you will know things and all things the life and this earth offers to every human like us/you.

Thank you

God Bless

and Godspeed!! (^^,)

Being able to do pretty much as you want, when you want. But I'd much rather be 9 again, life is lot easier!! You might not think so at the moment, but you will say the very same thing when you're older!

I'm sorry to say it but, the best thing about being an adult is I no longer have to deal with a father who was a spoiled brat to we kids. The worst thing (I know you didn't ask but you get this as a feebie) is that I no longer play workup or 500 (those are baseball or softball pickup games).

Being responsible for your own choices in life. Having the choice to stay to watch the sunrise in the morning, walk in the rain without a coat, the freedom to travel by yourself to new and exciting places all over the world and discover new cultures.
