I have a friend whose child was adopted by the grandmother and im worried about the child. He is 8 almost 9 and still sleeps in the bed with his grandmother. They still take an occasional bath together (she is pushing 70). he is slightly affectionate and has a real bad temper. He is always butting into adult conversations, running the streets at odd hours, can be gone all day and part of the night, and it seems the dont care. They have him in couseling, he goes twice a month. but he is very rude and sassy to the grandparents and is allowed to get away with everything. is there anything i can do about this? or is this even my business? My friend calls me crying when she has been to visit because the grandparents has told him horrible things about her that are not true. and he calls her names and cusses her out and they do nothing.

she was 18 when she had him, and her hubby aboused her and DHS took the child away. After a 3 year battle with DHS they placed the child in the grandparents custody. she was not mature enough in the first place.

Call DHS and child services. It's their job to come into the home and draw their own judgement and take precautionary measures to assure the child's welfare. That's definetly not right, and it sounds like he's just a spoiled brat who needs some healthy discipline. Has the mom considered trying to get the child back?? If she has evidence that the child is not being cared for in a fit manner, she has grounds to sue for custody, regardless of her past....just so long as she's straightened out now.

call child services or have ur friend call thats not right for the grandmother to eb sleeping with and abthing with the child ... as far as the behavior of the child the relationship betweent the grandparent and him may be the reason. its normal for a child to act out in sucha manner if there is any form of abuse .
good luck .

There is not much you can do....and his biological mother cant do anything neither.
And another thing....why was the kid adopted by the grandmother? Now a days there is so much help a young woman can get to help her with her child....if I gave my child up for adoption it definately wouldnt be to my grandparents and there is no way i could live with myself..therefore wouldnt be able to go have regular visits with him....?Sounds fu#*ed up to me....

no idea what to say... it does seem very wrong.. especially if the grandmother is sleeping with the kid and bathing sometimes.. that's very wierd.. and and 8 year old shouldn't be running around by himself or cussing anyone out.. not really sure what you can do about it though.. maybe some counseling for your friend (seems she might need it).. i love Dr. Phil, so maybe you could write him and he could offer some hlep... not sure what else...

well if my mother dumped me i bet i would be cursing her and surely wouldn't have respect. so your friend got what she deserves. leave poor child alone. he is angry on all the world cos his mother dumped him. maybe because of her he will have broken life. your friend is a ***** who should be punished for what she did to her own child
